Yesterday I made the maiden with the new setup (Lander 3575kv). I must say that I am disappointed in the power. I am flying with a 3300 mAh 25c 4s and it was so hot when I came down after 3 minuts.

Also one of the gears stopped working for real....

Oh and check you battery and Motor with a volt meter to make sure you getting full power

The lander setup might need more than 25c. 35c would be much better.

Having trouble keeping both ball joints in the mains, at one time they were working fine but now every time I retract them they come out...

Any help would be appreciated

I am more than satisfied with this plane and my power setup I chose. I went with the HET 2W-20 and 6904 fan. I get 5/6 min per flight on 2200 4s 30c packs and they come down warm. I constantly hear people bitching about their retracts so I got the fixed version. I also y harnessed the elevators to the ailerons and programed in the elevator mix, she handles like a dream!!

Do you get unlimited vertical with this setup? I'm looking for a good 70mm power plant that runs on 2200 4S 30C packs.

Look at the Sapac MB-1 if your F-18 needs a shot in the arm. WOT pulls 60 amps and around 900 watts on 2200 4s 20C packs. Many get around 1000 peak watts on higher c packs.

My LX F-22 with a Sapac motor and fan out runs and climbs my Exceed F-18 with ease and thats with the fixed gears hanging out.

Try Jack at EDFHobbies.com...ask him for the SAPAC MB1 and fan and go 5S with it...4.5pds of thrust at 80amps.

Slide the pack back a bit in the bat tray and fly like you stole somethin...

Do make sure the fan is harmonically balanced throughout the upper RPM range before you install it.

I don't know how they turn the wires in the MB1 or if they're made out of gold or something but I've not been able to reproduce it's thrust on 4s for the life of me with other motors. best deal in motors at all sizes for it's price...

I've bought my MB1 combos strait from Sapac. However you need to call them to see if they are in stock. The last one I ordered it didn't say out of stock & two days or so later I got an email saying they were out. It took another 3 weeks to get them in.

I just ordered another MB-1/70mm unit for $45 @ SapacAmerica.com It was shipped Fed Ex from their Florida location and I got it in 3 days. Came balanced and had no rough spots when I ran it. Got 1 in my LX-F22, TWM X-35, and one on the bench.

What size ESC is in this F-18?......I have never peeled the bellypan off to peek at it. If its 60 amps I may drop my extra MB-1 and fan in!

I'm looking to stay at 4S 2200 - I have quite a few of these packs and like to keep it consistent for all my planes. Will the MB-1 still be much of an improvement over the Freewing setup on 4S?

I don't own a freewing setup, but I can tell you that I get around 900 watts and 3.5 minutes of flight time on 2200 4s 20c packs! I use $20.00 G Force packs from Value Hobby and have not puffed any yet. It suits my needs.

I know some Freewings use 2800kv motors and if so it will be an improvement, you can take the MB1\Sapac rotor up to 5s if it's balanced well.

Very efficient motor and fan setup for the price...
