The EDF whine sound is probably from the duct vibration resonating with the airframe.
You might be able to "tune" it out by adding mass to the duct, perhaps by applying layers of tape to the outside or inside. This could lower the resonant frequency to lower throttle settings.

I'm probably going to go ahead and put mine together with fixed gear. Anyone have issues swapping later on?

The fixed gear is absolutely terrible too. Save yourself the trouble, hand launch lol.

If you do though, I found the front gear very flimsy. I made a wood insert so the leg wouldn't flop side to side. Might have a pic somewhere if you want to see.

Also put a outward bend on the mains. It's a pretty narrow track.

Well this sets me back a few weeks...

Well at least I still have fancy afterburners...
Ouch! I haven't been on in awhile. PM me your address and I'll send you a fan.

Pretty close. Next week for sure. I got the blue and yellow. And... after hearing about the fixed gear, I'll probably bungee launch.

No need to bungee launch these.
This is very easy to handlaunch.

NICE!
Thanks Will. I'll happily except. And I will pay that forward somehow too. Truthfully I think if I get one more package from HK, Windrider or HobbyPartz in the next bit my wife is going to have a rage attack (She's prego at home receiving all my parts from the mail lady lol)
No matter how much baby stuff I buy, R/C things in abundance disturb her nesting frame of mind. The timing isn't too bad to swap things with forum members lol.
Maybe one day I'll get to cross the boarder for a jet meet and fly with you too.
To the security of Lake Erie!

I suppose if anyone in this thread now or in the future needs a stock ESC, fan and exceed motor I have one up for grabs too. I don't plan on using it again after the upgrade and it runs good.

Yes and when I ran up the stock power system on a wattmeter I got 44 amps. I guess they couldn't find a 44A ESC to put in there, so they gave you a whole one amp of headroom "on the house"...

PM me your address, you can have it when I pull it. I might get one more flight or two from it... considering my CS10 rotor incident. Need too lick my wounds lol

I also have a *fixed* front landing gear for you non-retract people out there. Mine had incredible slop from side to side, even some play forwards and backwards. I constructed a small light weight birch ply widget that removes all the slop and is epoxied on. You will have to epoxy the backside of the widget as it attaches flush with the foam inside the gear cavity upon installation. It will take bad landings all day long and not complain as it spreads out the load distribution from hard backwards force. Constructed with a bandsaw, dremmel, drill press and a sander. Very light. Was a fix, but my flying area and dislike for the mains narrow stance made me pull it before any real use.
If anyone needs a freebie PM me.
