Mini Wind Sock

I've been flying my cub at a large wide open park and find it difficult to keep track of the wind direction as it seems to change constantly. I came up with a very simple little mini wind sock that seems to work real well. It is very sensitive, cheap and simple to build. You just poke it into the ground wherever you want it and it reacts to even the most subtle wind changes.

Materials:

1. 36" length of 1/8" steel welding rod

2. 2 2/4" length of .050" wire ( a large paper clip would also work)

3. 2 1/2 feet of surveyor's flagging

4. 2 small washers - o.d. of about 5/16"

5. 5 minute epoxy
