Bill, I have never owned (or even seen in the flesh) an OS sparkie of any description. I don't know even if they were ever exported to the West - maybe just sold on the home market. If that's the case, then Japan was of course, a much more "closed" country than it was post 1945. Very occasionally, I have seen a Type 10 on eBay, but apart from that, the earliest OS's you normally see are the twin-stack New 29's or 36 glows. As far as I know, they were the first OS's to be imported into the US (by Bill Atwood). http://www.osengines.com/history/ostimeline01.html BOB

Bill, You can find some for sale at Ebay ocasionally. I'm not specialised in collecting the old ignition engines.
Reggy has some nice O.S. sparkies type 10 etc... in his collection.

A little white box from Aero Electric came in the post a few minutes ago and it contains tank parts, replacement gaskets and a new head to put my Anderson Spitfire .65 back in operating order. Now to disassemble, dugum, inspect and hopefully soon run this chicken. Still not sure what I'm going to put in in. Toying with the idea of building a Riser Rider by Roy Marquat, it's about the right size at 78" and you don't see them too often.
