What frame rate did you use? Very nice.

Nex5 in the air and pj710v on the ground.

Chuck i like the NEX 7 because it is 60p at 1080hd...much better image than the gopro...you can change lenses and run it total manual..or any way you wish

very sweet video ! my sony also can film in avchd format but i don't have alot of focal and my problem is jello but almost finish build my vibration mount and its simililar to flexacopter

Here's my second attempt at this configuration. I had a friend weld up a 1/2" square tube aluminum frame to replace the G10. This eliminates torsional flex and opens it up so wind can pass through. The whole thing weighs about 2.2 kg. The gimbal is set to low calibration and low travel hence the soft movements - preferable to the jerkiness. GoPro does not have the necessary dynamic range but I could have pointed it up a little more to darken the sky. Kinda looks like an atomic bomb instead of a sunset . It IS a beautiful old redwood. The fellow next door who planted it 60 years ago just passed. His 5th grade class had given it to him at the end of the school year and he "planted it to see what would happen".

That is one TALL tree, I always like seeing you climb up the tree with your quad to see how high it goes, adds some really cool perspective.

Interesting story about the tree to boot, sorry to hear your neighbor passed. Nice story and legacy though. I wonder if any of those 5th graders are still around and realize the tree is still going?
