It's a Glider, and therefor is ment to be flown like one...
allso very good as a slope soarer or thermo glider...

The motor will be OK as long as you only use it to climb and then glide...
30 second burst to get you up into the sky..

[QUOTE=acuamie;18117703... you will burn your stock motor.[/QUOTE]Acuamie, I would certainly like to hear why you think he will burn the motor just by using a battery with more amp-hour capacity. That will make the battery run longer but sill NOT deliver any more current at WOT than the stock 1300 mah battery.

YES you can use a 2200 mah battery with no worries. You will need to adjust the battery position to give the same cg as with the stock battery.

That is what I thought too, it should pull the same amount of amps no matter what the source is. . . . but then doubt start setteling in and I do not have a watt meter.

Yes I want to fly it as a glider I love hunting for thermals I used to own a Electra from goldberg and loved those 1 - 1.5 hr flights

it is a "STOCK" motor brother. unless u change it to or something reliable brand. my first maiden using all stock motor and esc with 3s 1500mah/20c and flying superb. then i change to 2200mah and the motor smoking, but the stock esc still good. (my true experience). maybe u should watch-out you C rating on your 2200mah batteries.

930~1100kv with 1500mah/20C : 331W with 29.8A at peak with 10x6 prop. maybe our friends here would share their wattmeter rating with 2200mah/20C/25C with their prop for comparison. . lets help mr_eagle6 fly his new glider soon...

-cheers- acu
p/s: maybe u can use this for basic guide. http://adamone.rchomepage.com/calc_motor.htm

The reason your motor got hot had nothing to do with changing to a 2200 mah battery, or with the C rating. I suspect that you simply ran it too long at a high throttle setting. The stock motor is not meant to run at high power continuously.

I've flown the (what appears to be the original design) Multiplex version (Merlin) on the slope, and it's perfomance blew me away for such a small plane!
