It's not that you "over did it" but that I'm not nearly as smart... your data is appreciated.

I'll mock one up later with the Sullivan cable and post some pics. Won't actually be installing and using it until there's actually some water to run off.

Here's quick and dirty mock-up. need to figure out how I'm going to mount the rudder, I don't think it needs to be as low in the water as it is on the Flyzone Beaver... I might mod it and also make my own horn for it that sits lower once it's lifted. (EDIT: yeah, I'll probably duplicate the Beaver's mounting position... I can see now that the SC doesn't sit very low in the water when on its floats).

I like how you used the horn inside the fuse to keep things in line and orderly.

Here's a pretty slick water rudder installation:

Don't give up, man... and maybe Chap's right, too steep on the turn/bank?

Glue that sucker back and go again!

I'm in Essex, UK guys and haven't balanced with cam (obviously not a gopro despite the stickers) but to be honest it feels ok in the air I just don't have the space to go high enough to feel confident.. I have the controller set to hi.. Mistake?

That damage can be repaired. Glue and tape. It'll be fine.

Take a couple of pencils and check the Center of Gravity. It makes a world of difference and it's easy to do. CoG on the Super Cub is roughly 2.25 back from the leading edge of the wing.

Yes balancing after the addition of a heavy modification like a camera is absolutely critical.
Just use your fingers. Measure back from the leading edge of the main wing about 2 1/4 inches or 55-60mm. Make two marks and put your fingertips on them. Plane should sit level on your fingers.

What holes does the pushrod attach to on the servo arm and control horns?
Most people use the outter most hole on the servo arm.
Then adjust the amount of throw using the control horn.
Outer hole on the control horn=less movement.
Closer holes will make it move much more.
So to start off you could try the outter most holes on both servo arm and control horn.

I would definitely check the plastic firewall. It can pop loose real easy. Also if youre running the stock gearbox it most likely will be cracked and also have a bent shaft.

Hey Tiki, I'm sure I can speak for all that have gone the DIY route, we have all been there!
And still are sometimes!
It is frustrating, but when it starts to come together it is so much fun!
Don't give up mate!
Where are you in Essex?
I'm an Essex Boy now living in Suffolk, but I still work in Colchester.
