I've got a SC that I upgraded to brushless, but now I'm putting together a SC dedicated float plane that I will be using around salt water. Theoretically, the brushed motor will last better in that environment (or not; we shall see.). I'll probably have to baby it, because it will be a bit overworked. But then I've got friends who've upgraded, so motors won't be in short supply.

That was already done by my LHS in front of me while I was paying for it, before it even left the store... just so I wouldn't forget

Sorry to hear (or not really) that your "guns" do sound louder, but really you should not be allowed to post video given the blue skies and nice weather you have out there in So. Cal. on in January....

It did help, but due to the weight the plane was a dog. 130 grams doesn't sound that bad until you are forced to fly with it all the time. The parachute bomb drop is way more fun. Here is a clip of today with the machine gun unit. For this thing to work it needs to be lighter.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psPTO...ature=youtu.be

What about taping the holes in the cowl and landing in snow?
Wanted to try here we got snow with that arctic blast.
But was windy and I wussed out.
Maybe even build some cheap skis from plastic bottles?

Quick question: My Cub has floats on it and I've found that taking off on water seems to be slightly tricky. When I am taxi-ing and increase speed, the plane usually veers sharply to one side, or zig zags just prior to lifting off the water. My floats are installed correctly, and not pointing in or out. Will giving the plane more up elevator solve this? A couple weeks ago this happened and I ended up bombing the plane right after take off.
