nope cant afford that FMA stuff. just using regular GP slinger $15 esc, and making sure i don't drain battery too low to mess it up. i have no problems with any of my planes i run on 3 cells and regular ESC. today i flew the plane at Dana Point Beach and got alot of complements on it. i love this plane

FMA 20a Lipoly ESC is only 37$ (cheaper than a new batt) haven't seen the Slinger ESC anywhere. I also like to keep things cheap but I'll spend alittle more on some things. If you saw my post on the neon rainbow stripes I put on the bottom it got a little out of hand today, I did it to both wings then covered over the blue-blue-red stripes on the top with neon red, yellow,& orange (tip to root) used the stock style for those stripes though. You have to admit flying Slingers can be downright addictive! This is about the most fun airplane I've ever owned. Probably won't get er done til next week though my work week starts 12:00 am thurs, I do 12s so I sleep alot last half of the week.

slinger esc is available from tower hobbies for $15. was flying my slinger today at van nuys air field and parkzone was doing their commercials for their new line of RTF planes, and man that new f27 gave my slinger a run for its money. very impressive. but also there was a zagi with one of those multiplex BL motors, and it must have not been prop right because my slinger was almost faster.

Hey gvr4201

Do you know what the Park Zone plane is made of, styro, Elapor, EPP?

Was it faster than your Slinger?

Was it as agile?

Just curious.

yes it was agile, immelmans, split s, clean inside/outside loops, low level 1-2' inverted pass, rolling 360s but of course this was with accomplished pilot. speed was probably about the same since its smaller and has a 480.

all epp, nicely painted.

Chris, mini speedwing would be a bad choice for a first foray into RC flight.
I have one of these little 20 inch wings with a J250 on it. Most difficult to fly in the whole fleet. But, it is darn fast!!!! BTW, I wouldn't use any 6 cell packs on speed 400's. Just not enough punch! Use either 7 cell nicads, 8 cell nimh's or, 3 cell lipos (use throttle as this pack can lessen the life of the motor considerably). 2S lipos will work nicely provided the 400 motor is geared (I fly 'em in my Tiger Moth 400).

"Third Times A Charm"

Well guys been away from the puter for a few days (nights) - that work thing. Did however finish the "Neon Rainbow" Slinger today, maybe maiden it tomorrow (calling for 50% chance of rain -Oh well, here in the midwest we say "don't like the weather? - wait 10min) guess we'll see what happens. Wish us luck (me and the plane) you'd think after a 14 years of RC and 15 years of FF, & CL before that I'd lose that 1st flight jitters thing, especialy on the 3rd of the same plane. "Keep Slinging It"

i guess this thread is slowly becoming the slinger flyers thread. motor on my slinger is quickly becoming tired on the 3 cell TP 2100s. i will need a replacement soon. i also painted my slinger in japanese fighter theme. olive drab on top white on bottom with red circles top bottom and on the winglets. ill take a picture. the japanese had alot of secret planes that were never produced, i saw a special on wings, but i don't if they had a flying wing looking plane. ill post pics when i get them

3rd Times Definately A Charm!

Just returned from the field. 1st flight was good, windy and turbulent today here so I stopped at one flight - CG at 81/4 in from LE was great. Maybe its just me but this Slinger was a little smoother with a rear CG than the last one (maybe it likes it's new colors) I'll have to get a hold of someone with a digital camera and get some photos to post, yeah I know they say take the pics first but after 5 Slinger free months I just couldn't wait. At least I got rid of those 1st flight jitters. Thanks for the well wishes. Gvr 4201 - I couldn't open your pics on my puter. would still like to see your Banzi Slinger, I'll bet it's cool!
