You can do more research on the subject by Googling "Tuskegee Airmen". Theirs is an incredible story.

Rob, nice flight...really liked it. I have a question though. For you guys with RC planes with floats and guys with RC boats, what happens if something goes wrong either over the water (flying) or on the water (boating)? Do you keep a small Jon boat close by? The only guy I know that can walk on water is our president of the U.S.A. ....so some seem to think including himself

At least a boat will stay afloat BUT what about a plane??? Seems kinda risky

BTW, as an airman who worked as a munitions loader (bombs) during the Vietnam war and also doing flight line duty as the jets returned, I never once seen a black pilot. Never! With 3 years in the Air Force. Weird huh?

Mike.

Hey Mike, that is why I have my tugboat service, dragging in model boats out of gas, towing sail boats when the wind dies and now a new service, dragging in helicopters and float planes when they flip or run into trouble.

As for a plan for an unexpected water crash........

Last year, (with a smaller junk plane), I stripped down to my boxers and swam in and got it.

This year, I have an inflatable row boat as my rescue vehicle as well as a life jacket; havn't used the raft this year...(knock on wood). I am in the market for a used Kayak though

Ryan, I knew you would get a kick out of that fishing vid. When I saw it, I said to myself, now this is something Ryan would try to pull off

@Rob, How was that swim Buddy? Was the water cold? You know you took an awful chance swimming out to rescue your plane. I am happy to know you have a more "safe" rescue plan in place

Mike.

Six blades! Dead bugs, chop-chop, slice-slice. dice-dice, die-die. It is all good.

Yes! The water was cold but refreshing. I knew that particular lake last year, it's a good swimming lake. I would never fly my plane over water that wasn't safe to swim in. One thing I find with the Yukon that is different than life in Ontario is that when I lived in Ontario, I never went anywhere where I had to worry about currents and undercurrents. Now it's a different story over here. I'd love to fly over the Yukon river but it is fast flowing with undercurrents so it will never happen. I'm not a risk taker like that, I've got people who love me so I don't think it's fair to take silly chances.

Had a blast tongight with two friends at out little rc track. It was slashes and rustlers. If you fall to last place, you can cheat and cut corners. We set up cups that you can't hit or you're out accept for the big Mc Donalds coffee cup......that's the one that first place must hit after 3 laps. It was awesome!
