Raz, busy with the new house? Hope everything is coming along.
WOW, been quiet. Got a question that some of you may remember, especially you Rob. I'm trying to remember what that awesome flying machine was called. It went on grass in the field, shot up doing piros. It could also do this on water and snow. It could easily go from one environment to the next. Kinda like an ModelAero:http://modelaero.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc? But it was more square looking. Rob, I remember you were trying to do a scratch build of it if memory serves me right. I guess it's official,,,...when you turn 60 you start going senile....lol. |

Yup, storm launcher but don't buy an actual old school air hoggs storm launcher. There are other options and the storm launcher is super underpowered plus, it's toygrade.
I find myself always coming back to wanting one in another form, it's just that they seem pricey: Mike, this is what you're after: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4CH-RADIO-EL...item2c69efbd45 |

What can you tell me about the newest axial Rubicon? I am in a toss up between that and the twin hammers. I like crawling more than going fast. |

Twin Hammer and Axial scx10 -- (different beasts)
Hey Ryan,
The Twin Hammers is more of an in-betweener. It was really the wraith that was the first of its kind, merging crawling with speed. The thing is that when you merge those two elements, it turns in to something different and doesn't really feel like crawling anymore. It's more like a FOFF where all of a sudden you're looking for hills and small jumps. The twin hammer looks cool but it is what it is, a rock racer, not a crawler and heck, I wouldn't even call it a trail runner. I would give the axial Rubicon a glowing review. The honcho, dingo and rubicon are all the same chassis which is the axial scx10. The dingo is a kit that you build, quick and easy, the honcho comes RTR and I think the new rubicon comes RTR but not sure on that. I have 2 scx10's and I LOVE THEM TO DEATH! The twin hammer will always be a buggy racer thing but the axial scx10 platform can be whatever you want it to be. It's like having your own truck in real life, only smaller, safer and cheaper. The photos I'm attaching are axial scx10's, the blue truggy was a honcho kit and the chevy truck was my dingo kit. They're all custom now, as cool as the dingo and honcho body was, I needed something more unique and crafty. The truggy is the back of the honcho kit merged with a proline suburban body that's been modified. THe interior is various stuff out of barbie cars and whatever else I find at the sallyanne. The chevy truck is an old tamiya clodbuster body that I bondo's the sunroof and hood over. I added the aftermarket clear windows, an old toy dash, custom bench (hot glue and cardboard and material), and a drive for $1.00 at sallyanne. I just finished the paint and bondo this week, it was the purchase of the driver that inspired this one. The winch works too. Also, the scx10 is tried tested and true. It's great in stock form but also has some super killer hop-up parts. rc4wd.com http://gcmracing.ca/category.php You may have seen the axial wraith, it's fun but has an issue with braking steering knuckles like all the time. The axial ridgecrest is morphed from the wraith and has the same issues. I'd stick to a scx10. Seek out your local crawling group and go to their next event and see what they drive. Probably axials, rc4wd trailfinders ($$$$$$), and some others I wouldn't spend money on. I think if you bought the twin hammer and went to a meet up, you'd feel slightly out of place with that machine. Get the axial scx10, you will not regret it, not for a second
