A while back, we were dealing with snow, snow and more snow. Mother Nature has shown three ways that she removes snow. First, she raises temperatures. Warmer temperatures are always good for pilots. The second way is rain. Rain melts snow but is not too good for pilots. The third way is a raise in temperature and rain. This also is not too good for pilots. Right now, we have warm rain, warm rain and more warm rain.

I resigned myself to sim time today. I just spent an hour on the sim. On the sim, it never rains. The temperature is always perfect. The wind is optional. Of course, repairs are always instant and cheap should you crash. Still, it is a sim.

I just looked outside. It is still raining. Sigh...

It could be a LOT worse. The ferry service is shutdown completely between here and Vancouver Island due to 100 kmh winds. For now, the Island is totally cut off from the Mainland. There are areas where people have power outages due to the wind. Folks who forgot to clear the snow off of the street drain grills or who didn't know they were there are discovering the joy of very wet basements.

I wonder how many people realize that Mother Nature has a most beloved brother named, Murphy? Some may recall that Murphy has a law named after him.

last week it was 20 something below, and now tomorrow its supposed be be +6 with rain.

On another note; while at Giant Tiger yesterday I bought a Syma S107 3 ch for 17 bucks, pretty cheap and there must be a pricing error or something. Cheapest I have seen this is 20 US online + shipping.

It flies okay, BUT not as good as the Scout CX - The Scout gyro is way better.

For what it is, the Scout CX is okay. It is not a MCX but then again, the MCX actually has rudder control. You can't do a piro with a Scout CX.

Saw them at the Giant Tiger here before Christmas for $27. Could not find any after Christmas. $17 is a great price.

Tail won't lock as well for FFF as scout does.

Doesn't flying a 3ch toy mess you up when you pick up the 4 or 6ch TX? I stopped flying the Scout CX for exactly that reason.

What's worse is that I fly mode 1; these 3ch are more more 2 than mode 1, do it screws me up when flying these 3 ch for sure.

I looked at scout TX last night wondering if I could re config to mode 1 BUT it'd be too involved as pots are soldered right to board

Would involve de soldering joints; moving over pots; drilling of trim tabs; and then running wire from the moved pot back to the other side of the pcb where it came off in the first place.

Too much work lol

Ryan, join your "Brothers" and leave those backwards people to themselves. They still haven't figured out they drive on the wrong side of the road yet, there's just no hope.

There is a very ancient reason long buried in the message archives of this site regarding why Ryan flies Mode 1. Suffice to say, it adds to his "mystique".

Now that it is Monday and I had to go to work, Mother Nature delivered perfect flying weather. That is just the way it is some times.
