Does anyone know the unit of measure for the altitude tag in the GPX file on the SD card?

Hey Brent,
I have been trying these out and I do like the hard case both for looks and protection. In so far as extra weight goes, I have not noticed any changes in performance. I know my setup is slightly different to yours but I do not think there will be any issues.

I'm trying to upload to the MKGPS using the u-center v.5.07 the firmware
MKGPS_01_2008a. When i try doing this i get timeouts and at the end a
pink screen which tells me there are errors.

I'm doing this in the last resource since i can't get a fix.

Question: if the battery is bad or not enought charge will this u-center software give me this type of error???

0. Go outside!
1. Connect MKGPS directly to PC using USB. GPS led should be ON.
2. Start u-center
3. Look at PC properties to find out what COM was given to GPS.
4. Set this COM in u-center, green connection light must be blinking in u-center
5. If u-center can see satellites after 5-10 minutes GPS working check the battery and reload setttings, if not - 99% GPS died because of static.

I had this problem when i used the wrong baud rate, check the wiki for the correct baud rate, i think its 57600

Thanks Don. I was just looking at those. It seems like it would be nice to have the hard case around the battery for extra protection and easier mounting.

Ah... the infamous static blowing our GPS. Yes that happened to me according to MK with a unit that was dead on arrival.

Hey does anyone from MK ever visit this board and offer any assistance. Would be nice for the thousands of dollars spent on their products by single individuals to offer some assistance.

Thank fully my MK is working well at the moment and it is the best performing quad - just the lack of direct customer support as most of us understand support is trying to say the least....ending rant now.

What does it mean if one of my motors is hard to start, but once it does, everything seems to be working fine, except it gets noticeably hotter than the others?

It seems to turn fine by hand, also when spooling down, it rotates as long as the others, it doesn't appear to be binding, do you still suspect the bearing? Any other tell tale signs I should look for?

I had a situation like that. I thought it was something to do with the ESC, but it ended up being one if the windings connections going to one of the three motor wires had come appart. I was able to open the motor and solder the connection back at the inside base of the motor.

1st try running the bad motor through a normal ESC and see if it starts ok or if it has the same behaviour. IF it does show the same behaviour, you need to open up the motor carefully and check where the windings at the base come together to form the three motor wires. If this is one of the roxxy motors like mine, one of the three winding bundels that form a single motor wire broke.

If all the winding are good, then you can replace the bearings as per the other suggestion - but I am willing to bet its one of the wires. Search google on how to remove an outrunner can. The instruction I saw said to remove the bearings. I would try not to remove bearings unless you have to. I damaged mine trying to remove them.
