SO I called Tam up and he told me that on his P-20 setup he left it open like you did Mike.
Good job on the rudder linkage, mine is very similar and works great. I put my door back on, I had taken it off cause it wasn't closing and holding up the nose from retracting. It took me a while to realize it wasn't the door, it was the retract. I had to loosen the mounting screws, the bulkhead was binding it. When it would get close retracting it would stall, now its fine and working again. The door isn't scale but it looks good.

I was think of how to install the nose door, but with a single door it would look really goofy. You'll just see a jet, gear door and the wheels. So doing a double door would be really nice, but man it's gona be tight! Those C hinges are getting it the way. So an option would be using regular hinges.

Got two more flights yesterday before sunset. This plane has great flight characteristics, no bad tendencies whatsoever. I was afraid to slow it down enough for landing, but after couple of fly-by's with flaps down, I am getting the hang of its stalling characteristics. Both motor and ESC came out at around 90F after 4 mins, and batteries were 100F. Going to try 8s-4000mah packs next to see if duration can be extended a bit.

Been playing around with a set of Sapac brakes. This should be a drop in fit with the E-Flite 15-25 retracts. Our club runway is very short and every bit will help.

I actually don't mind the single door, its only open on take off's and landings and it feels better in the air having the nose bay closed up. I guess I am used to that style door cause its similar to my other jet. Here is a vid my daughter took the other night, she only caught the landing. It was hard to see now that the sun is going down at the west end of the runway. Now I know why we were the only people there that late in the afternoon!

HET 700-68-1500 motor with HET 9305-700 fan. I followed Herbs lead on this setup and it works great. These 68mm motors are larger than standard so they dissipate heat better, only problem is the motor will not fit wemotec fans.

Those are HK struts similar to what mpope1 is using. They are identical to Sapac strut except the Sapac wheel axle are clamped instead of single set screw. Fits the Sapac brake perfectly. I have not installed them yet since the wheel well needs to be modified. Too busy flying the bird.

Steph280 - you mentioned you got the struts from HK which are similar to SAPAC? Do you have a link to them? I have searched HK's site with no luck. Could you post a link? Thanks!

I think I found them here:

Are you using the SAPAC tires, wheels and brakes with the HK struts? I think that is what it looks like in your pic above?

Yes SAPAC tires/wheels are needed for the SAPAC brakes to work.

However, mpope1 did not have very good luck with these struts as mains. Maybe he can chime in with his experiences.

The prodesign struts are week for this size plane, good for a foamy or a lighter aiframe. I am still using the nose strut, doesn't take as much abuse.

Hey do you guys have any experience with the "hifei ESC 90A opto" ESC? I found an extra one laying around. I think this was what the used for the HET super sniper manual. I don't know if I have the programing card. But what do you guys think about using this on the ARC 75-1?
