Once upon a time, I worked at a place that re-built linear accelerators.

Clinacs, Mevatrons, etc. Seeing the parts (assembling waveguides and hand making o-rings haunt my sleep to this day) still.
Those square blocks in the bottom (the aperture assembly) are depleted uranium. Imagine taking a flat file to one to take the dents (they are very soft) out on your first day. I didn't stay long.

The guns are all very cool in a wonderful overly macho way.

But how cool is it you play the cello.

Also, your mother-in-law is the bomb.

[QUOTE=Artemetra;16782863]My, that is astonishing. Not as if much of the Old Testament isn't already. But how do you get inspired to dig up a coincidence like that?

Life is full of hidden meanings but also coincidences. Sometimes they are less obvious than other times. This was just a lucky hunch.

Subliminal advertising and neuro linguistic programming are deeply fascinating subjects. More suited to the Life, Universe and Politics thread though.

That looks more like an X-Ray or Gamma generator that includes the linac. And the depleted U seems to be a wavelength filter ?
