Yes, mine that I got last week came with the 70mm 5-blade Squall fan. Has a silver and purple outrunner motor. Still came with old 30A ESC though.

From what I can tell, the 5-blade fan is for 3S, so I'm assuming the motor would also only do 3S as well. I'll post up some pics tonight.

I made mine removable using Rare earth magnets. I don't have pictures of mine, but you can see the pictures I used as a guide in the old thread here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=150

So it seems they have sent so far with Squall 3 blade and 5 blade fans. I wonder what is going on? The reason I am asking about this is that I have customer who put a Wicked 4800 motor in what he thought was the 3 blade 56mm XF fan but was in fact the 3 blade 70mm Squall fan. So the watts on 4S were over 900 and like 60amps

I almost picked up one of your motors when I bought this, but decided against it as this is my first EDF and I figured I don't need to go crazy (not yet anyways!). I'm glad I didn't as it would have been for the wrong fan seeing what showed up.

I do have a motor for the 70mm squall fan, I just need to make sure I ask people which "stock fan" they received in the F-16 now.

Yeah, I was just saying that I'm glad I didn't order a motor when I ordered the kit as I would have gotten the one for the smaller fan.

Interesting that there isn't an addendum that mentions the new fans/motors.

Yes it will. With the 56mm 3 blade rotor expect about 95-100 mph with the exit nozzle reduced to 1.8" diameter. It is not the most efficient setup but it is an easy upgrade. You can fly like stock with 3S then drop a 4S in for extra speed.

It is the Wicked 4000 Plus motor, it has been out since pretty much ever since the Squall came out, it is about 700 watts on the 3 blade Squall rotor, and 800 watts on the 5 blade with a 4S lipo.

Here are pics of the fan unit, motor, and ESC that came with mine.

The end of my tube isn't round, more of an oval shape. Is this a problem? Should I try to straighten it out or just not worry about it?
