I have the one in the photo below, I was trying to find a
1900 kv motor , but could not - I found that one at electric
jet factory - it's for a HET 90 mm fan - would that fan and motor be a
good choice for this jet? or do you know where to get a 1900 kv
motor for the fan in photo?

sorry to ask , but I'm still new to edf's

thank you

Get the new 9305v2 fan for 700 series motors. The new 700-68 motor in either the 1680kv or 2100kv, I'm sure Herb would know which would be better for 6s.

Well I just left Air Sally's house and he fixed up my ducts for me. So by the end of this weekend I hope to have a flight report and video

No problem... fairly new myself to EDF's.

As Wayne said, you can either get a new fan, or a new motor. The motor I would recommend is the Hyperion 3026-1900.

Looks like it may be cheaper to just by the HET fan but I still don't know if that motor is good for the HET fan on 6S. I know the Haoye 7 bladed fan will load up the 1600kV motor on 6S but that's not the greatest fan in terms of effeciency..

Bob, nice to briefly meet you on Saturday. Funny, I'll be in your neck of the woods this weekend. Where & when do you think the maiden will happen?

Wayne,

I'm taking a chance with the Freewing units as reviewed here:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...5&postcount=46

For $63.00 plus shipping I figured the gamble was worth it. They come with trailing link struts but they will be too long. I'll have to modify them but at least it's something. No others come with struts except the EPF units. The problem with the EPF's though is that each mounting area will have to be hacked apart because the struts are offset to the retract body.

It's easy to do in foam but not so easy on this one!

I went ahead & printed out one of the photos to scale to see how they fit....

All good info ...

I ended up using a short aluminum tube for the interior rudder linkage ... I split it up with a scissor, slid it over the rudder actuator, and then crimped it back a bit.

At least the wing is done ... I added an airline connector so the wing can be removed easily.

Still waiting for the HET 700 motor from EJF ...

I tested the length of the nosegear strut ... it came out a bit short, so ended up lengthening it by about 1 cm.

If the nosegear strut is too short, the T-45/Hawk will have a tendency to get glued to the ground on takeoff. A hard pull on the elevator in inexperienced hands can then result in a stall ...

It is better - or I should say, I prefer - to have the nosegear strut a bit longer than scale ... That way the Hawk will come off the ground more or less by itself.

Coiled Springair 1/8 steel struts maybe not for display, but for everyday grass field operations.

Probably in the kv=1900 range if you are aiming for ca. 2000W max on 6S ... Maybe kv=1800 if you are aiming for a bit less .

The Het 9305v2 fan is NOT yet listed here:

http://www.s4a.ch/eflight/fancalc_e.htm

so you have to use the WeMoTec Midifan (90mm) fan as aguide, keeping in mind that the HET fan is a bit softer (less pitch) and will draw something like 10% less current ...

Maybe somebody else here has more exprience with the HET-9305-v2 vs. Midifan load comparison.
