So my coworker goes to TMI today to pick up some vacuum bagging supplies and happens to mention that we're thinking about starting to use sandwich structures for our airframes. The guys at TMI are like, "Hey! We have all this Rohacell left over from previous orders and want to get rid of it! Why don't you take it?" Well, it was a tough decision, but he decided to accept their offer. So what you see in that picture is about $8000 in Rohacell. And yes, I have permission to use it Now I might just HAVE to find a way to make a mold so i can make myself some solid core wings

I just dug through it all and unfortunately there's only a tiny bit of 31 IG-F, which is what is used in DLGs. There are about 5 sheets of 24"x18"x0.5" of it. Unless I glue two sheets together they aren't big enough for a wing. I guess I could make some wings out of the Rohacell 200 Maybe it'd be a good windy weather plane for flying in those microbursts we get.

Pushrods work well but they do suck to install. Why use them? My first Polaris is beat all to hell and back and has not let me down it has beaten every thing out there without a failure. I have with a purpose tried the get the springs to fail but no go! Springs are the Chit! Your turn George!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually attempted a pull spring first. I ended up with a lot of slop somehow, even though the string was tight. This is an all flying stab and I think my spring setup was where the problem was at. After spending several hours fiddling with it I finally gave up and decided to install a pushrod. Now I've got the pushrod housing bonded only in the pod and where it exits the boom and it's free everywhere in between. I forgot that my tailboom is still slimy with vaseline on the inside from the mandrel. It would take a miracle to get it to bond at this point. I've got about 1/2" of play on my elevator. I tried to remove it and run it down the outside instead. However, it's very firmly bonded to the exit hole and I can't get it loose to remove it. Ugh. Time to go do something else. Building is great fun, but installing gear is a royal pain in the
