Nice vid Mike! So you're calling it "The Rodeo"?... Nice. Next thing you know there will be a DLG round based on launch style. I'll give you a 9.5! That was super smooth knowing that it was extemporaneous... Pretty good launch height too. Maybe it's the key to getting a record launch. Next time you should wear chaps. .

I watched the "Rodeo" in Horror until it ended with a successful launch... whewww!

Is the Elf from Kennedy Composites the best choice out there? What are the other options?

What is the advantage of the X tail vs. V tail?

Check soaring USA.com (some) and olgol.com should have one. themonstr.com has a mini topsky. Binary 900 is one and there are others.

Some have mentioned a mini blaster, but I don't think you can get them anywhere.

I like the elf.

The Elf is a great launching and flying plane.
I'm leaning towards the Mini Xray, though, mainly because of ailerons and I'm not a big fan of see-through wings.

Definitely go with Xtail. Vtails don't work well with SAL or DLG.

Thanks for the info guys. I like the idea of having ailerons as well, looks like the binary 900 v2 or the mini x-ray are the only two that have that option. The binary 900 looks like a pain to build though.

The mini "Blaster" is not a production kit. Guys have just taken a damaged full-size Blaster, and rather than throw it away they chop it down and rebuild it as a mini.

I will never complain again about flying dlgs when the temperature is below 60F...

Lol, If my wife and I were still seeing each other, I'd be a Colorado DLG'er in the Summer and an Arizona DLG'er in the Winter. When it came to choosing her or DLG's, the DLG's won... So now I get to roast in the Summer again.

On the Vandal wing is there any special setting on the servos, I cant seem to get very
much flap, about (23deg) with a diamond D47 set at center . when I push them much past the 23deg they grunt and groan and don't sound very happy.
when the servo is at center move a tooth or 2 down or up or down????
any help there, or do I just center them and install and go with what I get?

I would try offsetting them a tooth or two and see how it does. Did you get your radio programming sorted out? If you can have 17* down when the servo's are centered then you're at the right starting point as per ASK's instructions for RDS. From there I think you program your camber in flight modes to bring them back up.
