Weather should be ok, although maybe a little snow on ground.

AD will be running it on F3K Master again, and needs a final head count to generate the flight group matrix. So RSVP!
Count me in. I may have to work, but I'll find a way to fly...

Good task list, but as some time we really 'aught to start flying the new tasks too. Adrian, can your program yell out the remaining window time every 10 seconds during the final 2 minutes of the Poker task? That, or something similar, would be nice.

Paperwork is done for our two AMA sanctioned contests.

Wasatch Front Spring Fling, Apr 21st, Vinyard Sod Farm, F3K tasks no flyoff, $2 entry fee (recommended, not mandatory... used to offset the cost of sanctioning)

2012 Utah Open, May 26th, Vinyard Sod Farm, F3K tasks no flyoff, $3 entry fee (again the recommended donation...). There will be a trophy of some sort for 1st place at this event. I'm thinking this will be a travelling trophy so you'll have to re-win it each year. Yup, I'd like this to an annual single day event.

Look for individual threads for these events popping up soon.

Nice, that's what I'll do for the rigging thingy at the servo end.

Good job Finchy! Love it! And you keep on yielding (I mean 'wielding') that CD sword all you want.

Make sure to also do these at least 30 days in advance of the sanctioned contest dates:
1. Send a Google calendar invite to "usaf3k@gmail.com". That will get it on the league calendar, which is required.
2. Post an announcement to the "USA F3K League" thread HERE.

Mike, I had already done #1, but didn't know I had to do #2. I don't think most of the other contests have done that. I think they "read" the announcement part as starting a new thread here in rcgroups...

Yeah, I got a PM from him last night, here is a little excerpt.

(Yo lemon head, just so you know, your fat! Plus I am a card carrying AMA CD so since I am now the new Boss In Total Command of Handlaunch in town I have made a couple of our monthly's big time contest. Yeah, I don’t think you can do that can you. Ha Ha sucka!!!!!)

I know its usually pretty low to share a PM cuz its not meant for general view, but I thought others should see what I have to deal with.

Yeah, at first I was like, the nerve!!!!! But then I just realized this is a normal process, he will calm down and be a great assset to Utah DLG again shortly.......

How about we let the winner choose one of these for the top of the travelling trophy and they can keep the plane and give the trophy back. The Concept needs a little work and the generic one could use some different tails and I suppose I need to create a Polaris....

Help me out here citrus...will we need a Concept for this year's trophy??

There was a sunny break from the storm this afternoon so I couldn't resist taking my baby out and seeing how she likes the new tail I can see there is significantly less wag on launch, but I couldn't see any real difference in launch height. It's hard to get full power when you're in six inches of snow, though.

And those look awesome Russ! I'm impressed!

I got some ballast rigged up in the V3 today. It will not be a quick swap, but it could be done in a couple minutes. I put in the second to the smallest slug. How do you guys determine how much ballast to add?

USe just enough balast to still get the movement you want. On the B3 an ounce seemed excessive but 1/2 seemed great when I put it in. But then again, if it is ever windy enough to really need ballast I just dont fly.

Winds+heavier DLG+the ground=Sadness.
