It depends on who you pay, Russ. Maybe our head scorekeeper at Red Rock will take bribes to help you qualify. It's going to be Kelsey Jensen again this year, and I doubt she'll cooperate.

I don't think the AMA can accept online payments yet for the F3K Team Select program. You have to mail the form and a check, or pay with credit card over the phone at (800) 435-9262 ext. 252 (Colleen).

I'll give Colleen a call...I guess I'll just have to fly better too.

And I would wager Kelsey would be intrested in a new Concept, which may help your scores if someone were to get her one as a gift for all she does. Just sayin.....

Kelsey rocks! So glad those guys are coming again this year.

I now have the flight matrix and sound track for Round Robin AULD for 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 pilots; just in case we want to try it sometime. I think we should! We can score it if we want to by using F3KScore and just setting up a contest with every round being AULD, and then only enter one flight time for each round (instead of the normal 3). For example, if we have 8 pilots then it requires 14 rounds to get through every pilot/timer fly/time combination. So we configure the program with 8 pilots, 14 rounds of AULD, and 1 flight group; then enter a single flight time for each round. The program does all the summing, normalizing, and ranking just like always. Cool! I think this sounds way fun for when we don't want to do a full contest of F3K tasks. And it will be a great tutorial for new guys to get to fly and time with every other pilot.

TIME ESTIMATE TO COMPLETE THE EXERCISE:
(Each round takes 5 1/2 minutes - includes one min prep, 3 min flight, 30 sec landing, one min for pair exchange)
4 pilots (6 rounds) - 32 min
6 pilots, (10 rounds) - 54 min
8 pilots, (14 rounds) - 1 hr 16 min
10 pilots, (18 rounds) - 1 hr 38 min
12 pilots, (22 rounds) - 2 hrs

In a nutshell it now says that the top 30% are qualified. So if there are 10 pilots the top 3 get qualified. If there are 60 pilots the top 18 are qualified.

Yahoo groups has it's place. I set up a yahoo groups site for our pylon racing to be used almost exclusively as an email bouncer. We were communicating via group emails, which worked ok until the group got so large that not everyone had the same (full) email group. Now we still communicate via email but just bounce everything through the yahoo groups account. Works great! Yahoo groups isn't really meant to be a message board like rcgroups imo, and rcgroups isn't always a friendly area when discussing things. I'm pretty sure most of the local pylon racers (read: new to the internet and past middle age ) would just clam up when someone outside of the local group challenged their opinion. If rcgroups had private groups I'd have set up an account here.
