That doesn't look bad Jon, especially for going in dead on asphalt. Nothing structural and/or unrepairable. No wing damage? You are very lucky. Should be back in the air in no time.

That's why I installed audible voltage regulator. No problems with battery after that.

Then of course there's the famous "launch with switch jack IN" (you know, the one with the red caution ribbon). You'd think the regulator should tell you that.................but nooo!

Hey- where do you guys buy carbon fiber stuff? I need some plate to repair the deck in this blaster. Anywhere local?

Last owner cut a big hole in the deck for his battery. I want to fill in the hole.

Mike, what thickness is the plate? I just bought a 2mm thick plate from HobbyKing for a heli project and won't be using all of it.

reprogrammed the Longshot into the 9303 last nite, with flight modes and launch momentary.

Glad to hear, I really think you are gonna love that radio.

There is plenty of sand and sagebrush south of the runway apron where the flying wings did combat for the 2010 Wendover event. Of course the brush and rocks (forgot to mention the rocks) could do damage on a rough landing. I would sure love to see you guys do a demo there.

I didn't get time last night to work on the repair, but tonight was fine. A few pictures of how I'm doing the repair.

Wow. I just fly with a beat-up nosecone. The structure of the deck is what is really important.

You didn't put anything permanently inside the cone, did you? Someone in AZ had done that, and it messed up the fit, so they had to get a new one, anyways.

FWIW, if it doesn't quite stay on like it used to, a small piece of invisible tape on the joint between the cone and the pod will hold it just fine.

Nothing permanently in the nose. I just used some lead shot to support the fractured fiberglass while the balloon puts pressure on the layup.

The deck is repaired. It just need a tiny bit of epoxy.
