If you tried reversing the gyro it looks like you are not in HH mode.

If you hold the tail by hand (0 throttle!) and move it to the right does the leading edge of the top tail blade point to the left? It should.

Set the gain to below 50% so the gyro is in rate mode

Check and ensure that the servo is centered

move the stick left and right and ensure it travels changing the pitch on the blades

then increase the gyro to 75%

now with the tail facing you push the tail to the right
Check the blades have increased in pitch to compensate and push against the direction they are moving

now repeat but move tail to left

Things to check

Make sure gyro setting for gain is set to 0 on the gyro itself
Make sure that the travel doesnt bind the the servo at full travel, if it does adjust the second pot to ensure it doesnt bind
Ensure your servo arm is at 90 deg when you have it in rate mode

Let us know what you find, if you can show video of the pots, show video of moving the tail and show video of the pitch of the tail blades at that position

Alos one other thing to check is the direction of the blades rotation

please show that on video too

Elias

One important thing, make sure the gain wire is in the correct spot and not in the rudder channel, you can simply verify this by checking that when you change from HH mode to Rate mode that the LED will go out on the gyro

Just got my HK450GT, very cool!

I have a few questions:
1. The head feels a bit stiff, is that normal or should I oil it a bit? The align manual does not say anything about oiling the head.
2. Do you automatically disassemble everything and loctite or just the screws that are easy to open? I noticed that some screws have loctite on them and they are hard to open. The ones that don't are quite easy to open.
3. Do you open the fathering shaft to loctite it?

Thanks! This is going to be so much fun!

I usually "try" every screw, if it seems to be hard to get out or tighten I usually leave them.

I would really recommend undoing the featchering shaft. You want to be sure that its good. I dont always re-loctite both screws if one of them is hard to get out, but I always try. My GT was loctitet pretty good.

Put some grease on the thrust bearings.....you will find they are as dry as a desert!

I have to agree! I am starting to replace with bright!!!

I think after 35yo most of us tend to have issues working out which way the damn thing is facing at times.

+1!

heck once I flew black carbon fiber blades, black tail blades, black paddles, and dark blue canopy, i did a flip and my daughter said is it still upside down or is it the right way up.... she confused me for a second so I took the heli down lower so I could see it clearly.... after that flight I didnt use the all black setup ever again, then I went to fluro and thought I love this, used all white carbon main blades and havent looked back.

Best to ya!

Elias,

I spent half the morning trying to find the flouro stuff on helidirect, but with no luck.

Is it any particular brand I should be looking for?

Thanks,
Harrow.

really? maybe their search engine was down? just type in neon and you will get pages and pages of stuff

But here are some 450 size items in Orange (the brightest neon)

Stabilizers
Frame
Paddles
Tail Blades

Thats just a short list
