Trying to help out a friend. What's a good tail servo to go with a CX-3X1000 and fits in an HK 450 Pro tail servo mount? Preferably local and under $30

If local, probably an Align DS525, but it's a bit more than $30 ($33 from Infinity Hobby). Probably worth the extra for the reliability.

Nothing wrong with a clone, it's just what clone. Tarot, ALZRC good, Hobbyking bad

I'll try again to straighten it further, but it's quite difficult to do it by hand. :P
You'll never be able to get that straight enough to not cause unacceptable vibrations. It will have to be replaced. On clone kits a belt drive causes less problems than a TT.

If the gyro expects to have +/- 12 degrees of collective then it's best to do that and limit the pitch on the radio or it can theoretically cause problems with the gyro.

With 12 degrees of collective pitch range 10 degrees is 83% and 11 degrees is 92%

Yeah, unfortunately this is an HK450TT Pro V2. I've been looking at Tarot kits and the step up to Align from that isn't particularly large, we'll see what happens with this build. Again, haven't gotten far, I couldn't continue with the build after I applied some strong glue to keep the ball links in place. (Not enough thread on the other side of the servo arm to attach a nut, so I put some glue there instead)

I've googled the whole problem with bent TTs and noticed that even TTs from Align come slightly bent, but it isn't a problem most of the time. Unless it's severly bent.

I've got extra parts on the way, including another TT.

I'm running 8-9 degees as a beginner, that's with a Tarot ZYX-S.

Still climbs like a homesick angel when I need too.

Hi All

Got a puzzle for all you budding Sherlock Holmes' out there.

Looking to build a stretched 450 to swing 360mm blades. I know Tarot do a conversion kit, but this is expensive, and for some reason they include a new set of frame sides (why?)

Anyway, with the collection of spares I have, I figure all I need are
Boom
Belt
Long flybar

Boom I have coming
http://www.oomodel.com/tarot-480-par...k-p-64623.html

Belt
Infinity have these
http://www.infinity-hobby.com/main/p...oducts_id=7001
but for a $1.99 item, they want $8.18 postage.
I will if I have to, but there must be somewhere cheaper.

Flybar
This one has me stumped. Apparently I need a 250mm bar as opposed to the standard 220mm.
Align used to do one, as do Tarot, but neither is available at the moment.
Anybody know of a 250mm x 2mm dia flybar from another model that I can use?

Thanks

Borderlord.

P.S. Just checked with Infinity about post for two belts. For the privilege of sticking another belt in the same jiffy bag, they propose to charge me another $5.45 Hmmmmm

I am using a Blade 450x tail servo on my HK450 GT with Tarot ZYX-S and it is superb.

EFLRDS76T

Very fast, and enough torque to get the job done.

They are also very light, I am using a 9mm arm. Pirouettes are very fast!

Hey, that is amazingly fast. Still only 0,8kg torque. I will keep it in mind for my HK250, but i have burned out low torque servos on that tail before. Going to test with the TGY-306G first, to see if i finally ironed out all the gremlins on it.

my pirouettes are also really fast with a burned servo. Its not really a servo property, but more one of the heli and gyro capability.

You mean this?

I'm pretty sure STO makes that not Tarot.

He didn't mean that. Tarot extends the back of the frame.

It's the flybar version. Also has plastic main and tail grips but these are Thunder Tiger and not cheap clone plastic.
