Hey kids, on the thoughts of someone else, let me know whatcha think. Was just suggested as an option. Should we do a $5.00 or whatever landing fee for the sWARm????

I have mixed thoughts on it and dont want to operate like a normal club as that would just screw the UFO thing up, but it might be an easy way to cover cost of doing the sWARm.

It is not alot of work, but its certainly a labor of love.

At first I was financing the sWARm as alot of people made donations if I paid shipping, or bought something, etc. And the food often cost a little more than we brought in for it. This last sWARm at the end of the day we had about $100.00 left over. It was a great day to have $ left over!!!!!!!! Great news I can pay for a portolet, w/o going into debt! Still doesnt cover shipping on prizes though.

So just random thoughts. I am gettin ready to start the next sWARm thread just so I can point donors to it to see the participation and free advertising and I would like thoughts on how to proceed.

We can always just do what we have done in the past, and the good thing about this is that its easy.

We start getting too much money and we need an accountant, and it kinda takes the fun out of things.

So lets hear your random thoughts....

PS, I thought this a better place to discuss as opposed to the sWARm thread.

I like the idea of a voluntary contribution as opposed to a mandatory landing fee...

I'm gonna be there one way or another. The more we can keep this a "free" event the better. Just another thing that sets the UFOs apart from any other RC event.
