Spinner and tapered nose.
If you choose to buy a spinner, thats cool, mount it at your descretion. I cast one from a simple mould. This is how I mount it.
Tappered nose. This mod is to me the most prominent cause it makes a huge diff in the look of the plane. Cut a "V" from the tip to the first former. Start at TDC. Go one flute iether side. Then go ABOUT 13 flutes either side of that "V" for the other two cut outs. The pics should help explain. Ask if you are not sure.......cause I just got bumped to page two of Slope!

Wing joiners.
I cut the joiners but made them a little flatter than plan. This ony to make her a tad more zippy. If its your first, stick to plan, the dihedral makes the plane very stable.

Fitting the wing.
Once you have joined the wing, start by making the front cut-out for F2. Place the wing on the fuzz and mark the position of F5. Cut out and place on fuzz to mark out the wing saddle. This is to line up the wing to stab. Cut off the excess saddle.
This is not very easy, but try your best, your trim button on the TX will do the rest!
