Hum...the stich trick is a nice one, nevr heard of that. Nothing was shown as to how the wire should be attached. I figure that if it is glued on the bottom of the fusega and the 2 gear legs, it should hold itself OK ?

I don't have any time to work on the little plane right now. Not much left to do: Glue landing gear wire and install wheels, attach the struts and cover them, paint the cowl and glue the windows. Will post here as soon as I work on it, should be next week as I will be out of town this week end

Wing struts

Had some time to work on the plane today after a rough week and week end. I already had the struts covered a week and a half ago (all I could do on the plane that week) and to day I installed them, as well as the landing gear and tail wheel.

Noting much said on strut installation in the manual or plan. Here is how I did it:

Landing gear

Main landing gear was easy to install because I had some foam wheels (a bit too big for the model but will make it easier to take off and land). The hole in the wheels where bigger than the landing gear wire, but I had some CF rod that I cut and slipped over the wire. I was lucky the CF rod was hollow. I glued the CF rod on the wire and used little washers to retain the wheels on the axles.

The wire is glued to the legs and bottom of fuselage with medium CA.

Almost finished

I installed the tail wheel and tried the little Champ in the house Not flying mind you, but just taxxing on the wood floor and driving it around. Would have liked to have more space to lift the tail, but it will have to wait for a calm evening. I still have to install the windows and paint the cowl, but it looks quite nice and I had to show it off to you.
