Hello sqbbany,

You are right, I am using a bag skirt, it is a "standard" one; closed "tube" fed throug holes in the hull.

The dimensions are 1/4 scale: 75cm/45cm.

What you see and marked in the picture is the "drag flap", old solution for racing in water, there are other solutions to avoid drag and water entring in the rear fingers such as; closing the rear fingers and even (only if you have a lot of expendable cushion mass of air) just taking some fingers out of the craft rear...

Best regards,

Carlos

Hi Carlos
Dont you think that 3 minutes of running time is a bit too little? Compared to mine hovercraft 9 minutes with 1x5000mah battery. I have 2 powerful edf-s running at the same time. Where's the big difference in power consumption?

Performance!
Have you seen the videos on this thread? (If not, try the first link below, on Youtube)...

By the way, if you like comparisons (it looks like you do like), lets say that;
-The average Formula 1 car consumption is around 75 L /100 Km travelled.
-The best, and I own one, Renault Clio (average... mean of transportation...) consumption is...4,4 L /100 Km travelled...

"Where's the big difference in power consumption? "

I do not understand your question, after my post congratulating you for your toy`s achievments...

Regards,

Carlos

No problem Hovermaniac

I use two different set ups;
- I have one for special demos using the Byron ducted fan and
KB45-10L 1800kv Brushless Inrunner
Weight: 449g
Highest rated power: 2808W

With this set up and "driving like a crazy" for public joy, with fast and constant accelerations, drifting, spinning, etc. It is too much power consumption because the same batterie suplies also the lift engine:

KD36 Spec.
Kv: 2200rpm/V
Idle Current: 2.6A
Resistance: .0146
Max Amp: 55A

3 minutes running time in this conditions is ... Great!

I have the "standard" setup for pure amusement and not for special demos to public;
- 3 blade propellor driven by Turnigy L5055B-600 Brushless Outrunner 600kv
Weight: 296g, Kv: 500rpm/V
Voltage: 11.1v~29.6v (3s~8s)
Max Power: 1500w

Using allways the same lift engine

I use a 4s Lipo for thrust and a 2s Lipo for lift, both with only 3000A.
With this set up, I get 7/10 minutes running time.

Carlos
