Not a good plane to convert! Need a high Kv motor so the prop would not get too big. Probably runs on 4 S if it will fit.
Good luck.

why not so good to convert i was thinking a 6s setup say 3000 from my trex 500 with a 7 or 8 inch prop was hoping to be able to do with retracts and dual alieron sevros use a $20 dollar motor a friend suggested and be proped with the motor he suggested for somewhere in the 125 mph range

The Patriot being a trike throws the biggest advantage electric has to offer out the window <prop size!>. It's not the easiest model to balance as a conversion, and most likely the wing will have to come on/off to change out packs.

IMO on 6S the Patriot is not going to break 100 MPH. It's a fairly draggy airframe <yes I said it!> and 7 or 8"s of prop just isn't enough. IMO 9"s is the minimum, and you better spin it upwards of 17K RPM. < I would think 12S myself>.

Then again a nice Jett 56 would work well too!

Good Luck!

90 -100 amp Esc and a 6cell pack capabel of 80-90amp cont. and a APC 9x9
gives you desent speed and thrust.
