You'll be fine with what ever tire you buy. My advice is follow what everyone else is using at the track you plan on racing. You can't go wrong by following others. Also don't be afraid to ask questions.

I've never gone softer than xxps. No matter the brand

The firms and medis are fine its the softs you need to worry about. Reason I say is soft wear faster than most. Go ahead and try all of them and see what works best for you.

I tried softs last year at the car wash. They'll work but you'll gain front push. Try anything but whites.

Heres something we posted a few years back in most of the forums online. I think its here in the rcgroups.com as well but no need to look, I'll post it right here for you to use. This is our basic setup data sheet. There are lines beside tires and extra room to write notes on setups. Save it as a image/picture on your pc and print it out before your head to your race.

They posted this sheet a year or two back if I recall. It's as Robert stated above. Drivers are to use it for data at the tracks. I look back at my old data sheets when I go to a track I don't visit much. For instance I make notes on what tires and surface I raced on. Take my last out of state track. It was Jacksonville and the surface was a slick indoor crete. You need as much bite as you can to stay competive. Different tires would be listed on this data sheet that I tired or used for the track. You see the lines? Write on this to remind yourself what the surface was. Crete? Asphalt? indoor or out? Maybe how many drivers racing or who won in the mains. FYI I use the back and draw track setups or misc notes and phone numbers from drivers I meet.

Thanks for your help Gottacuda I printed out three sheets to start off with.

I downloaded the sheet to my new tablet I got for christmas. Its a 7 inch screen and works off windows. I can save my sheets on it instead of laying them in my room and getting lost.
