Man, here I go again. That 15% off deal at Nitro has hooked me into buyiing another plane. I just finished reading this entire thread and like all the comments from everyonel.

I was going to order the Dynam FW190, but I thi k I will like this one better right now.
It will be a great addition to it's sister Dynam Meteor I have been flying for over a year now.

It appears that the wing spar system is the main issue to deal with.
My wife is definitely going to be giving me the 'evil eye' when this thing arrives.
Happy flying guys,
Ken

BTW: I found it interesting that NOWHERE in this thread, or at Nitroplanes......does it mention the fan or motor system used?!
Can someone confirm that these are 64mm fans???

64 mm. I also have a Meteor and like this plane more - but I'm best with scale models of real GA aircraft. The Meteor is just a model plane to me; whereas this is a Cessna Citation 550.

dbc,
I agree with you about the Meteor being just a EDF to fly. The scale feature of this plane also drew me in. I tend to make most of my planes into "how far can I go" scale projects. I'm sure this one will be no different.

I'm glad to know that it is an actual Cessna Citation 550...wasn't sure about it.
Airliners.net....here I come!
Thanks again,
Ken

Well, after a few years of good service, my Turbojet developed a wierd sound. The best I can describe it is like a seal barking! Very intermittent, though. Anyone else experience this?

I figure a motor bearing or something loose, but I've taken them apart and checked and everything still feels smooth and tight. I ran them up one at a time, and I didn't notice anything funny. One pulls 18A, the other 18.1A. When I re-assembled them, I added a couple of drops of Gorrila Glue between the fan shrouds and the foam nacelles, in case there's some vibration. I'm wondering if it's just a resonant frequency thing. I'll try to fly her soon and see if I got rid of it.

Well, I wouldn't call it an actual Citation. Several things are slightly off scale and those huge engine nacelles are probably twice scale size.

Nonetheless it's a nice looking and flying model.

Of course; there have to be some compromises on scale looks. It doesn't bother me too much but some members of the "scale police" really get upset over things like this.

Yes.. The purists of ridiculousness... Being in Muscle Cars since the 80s and involved with restorations... It got to the point of insanity... (hence no fun) With things like the wrong bolt head holding on your exhaust and that number on the spark plug wire isn't the one it came with.. Ugh..!! RC planes are more fun at this time for me, cheaper and an easier storage issue..!! But I suppose their will be those in all hobbys..!! Not me..!!

Yea...she arrived yesterday in fine shape!!! I already love the plane and haven't even started building her yet.
I plane to take my time and add in all the xtra ideas that you guys have mentioned...especially the wing reinforcements. I sure don't want a folding wing up on me!
I am also not sure if I will go for a 'scale' paint job or keep it simple like stock. What I DO know is that canopy cover has to change....uggg, that black outline is uglier than sin!jd
Should get started soon. I'm in the middle of building a RCLander BAE Hawk right now which is taking some extra time to get things right.
Take care guys, happy flying,
Ken

Yes great job on the paint scheme, cocg! And I like your wing strength testing assistant!

On another subject, I only recently started paying attention to FSA (Fan swept area) and it's relation to desired intake and exhaust sizes on EDF's. So I ran the numbers on the Turbojet, and found the exhaust is like 96% of FSA, when all the tips I've read say 85% is a good starting number. So especially for all the speed demons out there, has anyone tried adding appropriate sized exhaust tubes yet? Could up the speed for a very small price. I'm not looking for a rocket, but I'm going to try it out.

Oh, and good luck with the maiden!
