Bakkie's Big Wing FPV Build! (now with Maiden pics)

I have read all the thread's and downloaded all the video's and FPV is thick in my blood!

I ordered the 1.3G 800mw system from BEVrc and it should be here in the next 3 days after customs had their fun with it

I was originally going to mount it on my Radian and I might still do that to get started and then move it across to something else like a wing but I just can't wait any longer so I already started with the wing build.

So please this thread is for comments, input, do's and don'ts etc etc.

FPV Kit already ordered:

BEV 1.3G 800mw http://www.bevrc.com/bev-13g-800mw-p-52.html
BEV-KX181H-PAL http://www.bevrc.com/bevkx181hpal-p-168.html
CE OSD V1.2 http://www.bevrc.com/ce-osd-v12-newe...ion-p-113.html
BEV 2.4G Long Range Module for Futaba http://www.bevrc.com/bev-24g-long-ra...s-rx-p-85.html
I also got the Rubber Duck and Patch antenna and the ebay 1200g yagi

The Platform will be a wing (see pic) the wing weighs 460grams after glued together with carbon support rods x 3

I am thinking of glassing it

Please let me know what motor and servo's you would suggest and batteries? 3s or 4s. I'm thinking 2650 3S 30C???

Anyway that's my storie. Thanks to all the guys posting vids and advice on this forum etc. And thanks to Trappy and his team for the cool vids and threads and to Chris with his records and advice etc.

I know I got the "your crazy" look a few times today

It's got the same wing section as the ZAlly so I think she will fly / glide nicely

Cord is about 4cm thick and 51cm tip to back!
We had to do the wing in section cos his CNC table wasn't big enough!

cool! having a deep chord like that should make the waffer thin TE a bit more user friendly.... should work out a treat. ya glassing it?

I've gone for a traditional plank planform using the PW98 section (PW1211 is essentially a thinned PW98 I think)... its defo not going to be a floater like yours but only a stop gap until the Radian pro is release.

So you've had all evening on this now... finished yet?

I love my Radian and will absolutely get the Pro as well. I just hope that the pro is just as good as the Radian!

So today I trimmed the wing to fit ailerons and finished the engen mount. I have also decided on my motor and prop but this might change

The wing is 1.62 meters long and weighs 490grams with engin mount.

I loaded the motor, prop, 2 x 3.6 4S batteries, receiver, ailerons, a shifting spanner for FPV gear and some extra pieces just to add some weight for the unexpected and the final total came to 1,93KG AUW! I am hoping to get her below 1,85grams

I decided not to glass her but just tape her. She needs to be a fun machine and not a glass ship.

I decided to go with the following motor for now

Model: SK35-48 900
Kv: 900rpm/v
Turns: 4
Resistance: 35mohm
Idle Current: 2.9A
Shaft: 5mm
Weight: 171g
Rated Power: 770w
ESC: 60A
Cell count: 3~5 Lipoly
Suggested Prop: 13x6.5 Specific data can be given on request
Power equivalent : .25~42+ glow engine
