I'm buying a Nite Vapor to fly around the driveway. Would the Dart P-40 or the Dart Cub be a good sim? They kinda look similar.

those might be good or even this

I find just flying the more aggressive planes really helps with your reactions and should make flying the Vapor a breeze

Heh, I don't know if Vapor and breeze should be in the same sentence. But thanx. I tried them all. I think I'll work the P40 for now.

I own a SkyFun that I've never taken out of the box. Can you recommend a fast flying wing sim? Is there a Stryker-style sim? It's pretty similar and a lot more popular.

ggunners, the micro champ file doesn't like me. Unhandled exception.

Got it. Thanx. Looks very authentic. Took a lot of trim effort, but I've got it flying pretty good. It might not be as self-righting as the real thing, and I'm thinking I actually get more roll with rudder turns. But maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Wondering if anyone knows where I can find this. I had been using Gary's model on FMS, but now that we've transitioned to RCDP, I've lost my SC model!

FWIW, I've sold a few planes recently. I've included with the planes a CD containing both FMS and RCDP, as well as links to places to download models (and places to buy sim controllers). The feedback I've received is that the sims have been very helpful.

I also have a friend with 2 boys (ages 13 and 11), who have had an interest in RC planes for a while. For Christmas, I gave them a pair of HZ Champs as well as a disc with the sims, and a sim controller. According to their mom, they have completely commandeered her laptop since Christmas, and they're spending countless hours on the sim (I suggested they use RCDP, and they are).

I think it's a great "cool" factor, as well as a huge confidence builder that they can fly the Champ in RCDP prior to risking their "real" ones.

Thanks again everyone, for putting together such a useful (and well supported) tool. I know RCDP has helped at least 4 people get into the hobby without all the usual stress and expense.

Best to post this kind of question in the main RCDP thread. While other folks are contributing & building planes, there's just one guy developing the sim, and he has a young family and day job as well, don't know how he does it.
