Beautiful boat, and way nicer than a Wheeler IMHO. Unfortunately I just read that the 1.7 class dropped below the minimum of 20 boats for AMYA sanctioned status. Too bad, but big expensive boats like these are a tough class to grow.

Below are some pictures from one of our sailing regattas. May 2010. I belong to the Indianapolis Admirals and we have a great bunch of sailors. We do One Meter Open and also our one-design class is the Victor V-32. Very successful class. We probably have 25 or more V-32's in the club. Of course, they don't all come out, but we've had nearly 15 at some regattas!

I don't know the story on this beautiful ship. Maybe you guys do know what she is? All I know is that I was in awe. Wow! That fourth picture I used for my computer desktop for several months. It was a treat to watch it sail in amongst our V-32's.

That's the schooner yacht America, for which the Americas Cup is named. 1851.

She is a very common sight sailing here on San Diego Bay. Dennis Conner bought her and brought her to San Diego for charters, sunset sail trips, etc.

Thats the replica. The original is long gone. Didn't know that Conner bought her. I know he's been very involved with the classic stuff for the past 5-10 years or so.
