I guess I never posted these.

Just one of my little free sailer's piddling around the pond as I run one of my steamers.
I've made at least ten of them so far for gifts and sale, getting kind of good at it.

I usually set the boom for 15 degrees, plop her in the water with a little push, and let it go where the wind takes it while I run the steamer

Nice pond. Great to see your sailboats made it into the water, too. Congratulations.

thank you for saying so! its a great little purpose built pond, even if the park itself can be a little sketchy at times.

That little boat is the first one built out of my little armada. and they've all gotten wet at least once. that one has hit the water around ten times. I cant speak for the rest because they've all found homes.

Here is the last pic taken before I sent the latest round of them off

thats pretty nice!
how was that printed pilat?
I'm actually thinking about cranking out about five'ish or so of the little free sailer's a year as a high end schwag item at the brewery. do them all up in the brewery livery colors with the unicorn logo on the sails. I got a screen printer for that process. he's actually next door to the brewery, does all our shirts and assorted merchandise, has all the art, ANND he was my drummer when I played the punk rock years ago! I've already approached him about it, and he'll just slap the job in between orders free of charge!
fearless leader at the pub is an avid vintage all wooden boat sailer, so, having a model boat as part of the merchandise line up is acceptable to him. even more so if I give them a Bermuda sloop rig and turn them into a yawl.

also, to be fair, I was buzzing my self to get both the boats in the same picture!
that is a really tight Trimaran disabled!

Bob,
Thats Lake Taupo in good old New Zealand.
Taupo 38 South is the boats name.
Water is still warm enough to swim and clean enough to drink.Winter is just round the corner and water temp will be down around 10 celcius or colder,so making the most of it now.

Clear water

It's nice to see water so clear. I live on the Mississippi river in Davenport Iowa (USA) and with all the sediment especially this time of year with the snow melt you are lucky to see 5 inches down. (alas, muddy mississippi) Even our boating lake has sediment run off, but a little clearer than the river. If I want to see water that clear around here I have to go to a swimming pool. LOL Great setting to sail in you have there.
