Finally in the air

Finally got my EPP/FPV plane in the air. The thing was very tail heavy. With all its stuff on it it weighted 59.45 oz. 2 questions. 1) where exactly is the CG on this plane...instructions give it 2 different locations. 2) has anyone tried shortening the tail boom to balence the plane...if so how much. Below is the video I took..... and yes I did spell taxiing wrong...so sue me

Right here is a rcgroup where i read it. like iīm using the frsky sistem wthout telemetry i have to use this booster what require that you solder one cable to one led of the receiver.
but now i have just receive my dragon link system and i connect it the same way (only the positive cable) the only difference is that you have to chose on the display menu of the osdpro to use the temp A for rssi .
and it works perfectly.
this is the link that tells you how to connect the booster to the frsky w/o telemetry receiver.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...366534&page=13
i hope this can help you.

Why don't they stock this in the USA warehouse?? Cheapest shipping is $36?? That's half the cost of the plane itself.

I only get mine to to just over 1km high as well. I am assuming I need more pitch on the prop to go higher. I imagine most are running 10x4.7.

I am not sure if I mentioned this on this thread but I took my plane out 8.4 km (and back) and in the complete 17km round trip used up only 2891mAh of power. The full specs are in the video. Mine is totally stock with no modifications, except it has hinges on the ailerons. It will cruise happily at around 6A and I calculate will fly about 21 km total (over 30 minutes) using 4000mAh of the 5000mAh pack.

8km FPV flight Hobbyking EPP FPV plane. (8 min 47 sec)

Should have got the skywalker, I have compared the two side by side.

The Skywalker is like a nice relaxing boat ride

The Hobbyking plane is like a raging rhino and it doesnt want to be in the air anymore than a rock does

My Brick has been up for 50 minutes at a touch under 2 kgs AUW so I guess I was just lucky ..... normal flights down at the club are around twenty minutes with strict altitude and distance restrictions due to local airport rules ....

I wouldn't go mad on power ..... 400 - 500 watts max is fine for me and it will cruise at under 10A .....

yeah look, to be fair to Hobie14, its not as bad as a brick. although i much prefer the SW and would never go back, you will be able to fly it ok. i would suggest the mods though.

i'm just a die hard SW fan now ;-) Sorry Hobie14, didnt mean to insult her that much... lol

I think it's generally understood that the SW is a better plane. But I just ordered the EPP/FPV so I'm glad so many people are happy with it. Just because the SW is a better plane doesn't mean this one sucks..... um.. right?

Couple of scary moments when you loss signal! I would have gone for more altitude at that distance.
