Will maiden it tomorrow. Runs great on the bench. Produces 4 lbs of thrust with a 3 cell battery and balances pretty good with a smaller battery pushed far back.
All up weight 2.5 lbs. with 2800 mah battery.

The motor mounts have a slight toe-out to allow the 8" prop some clearance from the fuselage and yet have the motors as close in as possible.

I'll see how it behaves in the air tomorrow.
Vertical takeoff!! Lol, that thing looks crazy!

aaron_gx, I saw in one of your photos you added vertical stabs to the skyfun wingtips. Did that make much of a difference? Im getting a little bit of jiggle especially when its windy.

Twin Motor Skyfun project

2x Master Airscrew 9" 3 blade counter-rotating props with 6.5 lbs of total thrust (4 cell) was too much to resist so I skipped ahead and installed landing gear to allow for clearance and much fun with take-offs and landings:

Trying to figure out how to control the twin motor Skyfun during vertical launch.
The scientific method at it's finest...

The pretty powerful propwash over the elevons provides pretty good directional control if I can get the hang of it. May have to dial down the dual rate

Tri-Motor Skyfun

Twin motor Skyfun was a success. Bobbled the landing and broke the right motor mount.
Replaced it and pushed on to new frontiers.

Introducing...the Skyfun Tri-Motor:

Nice work EC, any plans to fpv it? Would be cool to see a full takeoff to landing flight with the rolling undercarriage

Not planning any FPV, I've got the Twin Raptor and the Twinstar for that. This is more of a proof of concept project using a previously almost destroyed Skyfun.

Got the Tri-Motor Skyfun wired up and working.
Using (3) NTM Prop Drive Series 28-26A 1200kv / 250w
and 3 x Master Airscrew 3 blade 7" props w/ 3 x Turnigy Plush 30am ESC's

With a 4 cell it's generating over 5 lbs of thrust.
All up weight with 3300 mah battery: 2lbs 8 oz.

And yes, those are canards...
