hornet deal or rip-off?
im looking at a hornet a local guy has for sale, its got the full 3d upgrade, all servos, gyro, and lots of other goodies. he claims about $1000 cdn into it so far. its only been hovered, no crashes. what do you guys think its worth?

All depends on what it comes with. Just for a comparison, we do sell a "Deluxe CP Hornet Kit', with a bunch of upgrades, including a HiTec Eclipse 7 radio for about $725.00. Thats in kit form.
Have him fly it right in front of you to prove that it will do what he claims it will do. If the Hornet and the owner does well, then you might negotiate with him. If he refuses to demo fly it for you, then you might want to look elsewhere.
A lot of used equipment in this hobby can cost you more than if you purchased new if you are not careful.
