We went back to Joe W and let him know what our plans were, he sent us a new foil, that is basically the original JW foil cleaned up with tighter tolerances that would benefit a molded plane, when you build an EPP JW, the foil is kinda of what its supposed to be, adding tape, goop, filler, and covering distort the foil, the molded plane is supposed to be exact.

New Molded JW

I had the pleasure of watching Bruce Tebo really push the new JW, and was very impressed to see it achieve 216 mph, in wind that took the D80 to 240-250. That translates to a very efficient speed envelope. And it tracked smooth and predictable. Im sure Bruce might comment here, but at the time he seemed very comfortable flying it. I watched his thumbs, and all i saw was the repetitive pattern that is typical of a well honed groove. I cant wait to see more of these gorgeous shiny well made, excellent flying 2.4 freindly JWs. Thanks for bringing them out Bill and Jason. I hope to have you put my name on your list please.
John

Yeah me too- Plus that sexy specialized!

I love that you have gone for heavy glass instead of carbon. Keeps the price down and when weight is not an issue, glass is great!
Well worth the wait I reckon!

Maybe the waiting list order should be determined by recorded JW speeds.
I'm already planning my install. There are 7966 servos on sale at servocity. $45
.08 seconds, 100+ oz tq, Karbonite gears.

New JW

Bill
I would have loved to have flown it, but Bruce was having too much fun. He let me fly his D80, but no one else has flown the JW. He had worked several CG changes on previous days. And it really sounded like he had put a lot of work into trying various configurations. His latest modification was to extend the Elevons inward all the way to the fuse. I think that it was such an amazing realization that this plane was now flying so fabulously well, with that change, that he simply lost track of anything but just enjoying it. Maybe next time. Alan had flown with Bruce on the previous day or two, and he had informed me also of the trials to get the CG and flying surface optimized. So we relished the accomplishment that we had a new and fine plane on the hills. Looking forward to flying it.

Ohhhlala! Nice work. The reflex looks really pronounced or maybe it is the fuse showing it off. Is Andrew Barnes getting any of these in Oz? I'm down for one.
