First temperature tests by a German user showed that a HoTT RX stopped working at 109 deg F.
Could you link that report?

Well, 42C would be extremely low I think, but unless I see a confirmed report, I regard it as nothing but "hot air" from a Graupner hater.
The official specs say <70C after all.

New radio

Hi
Im looking for a new radio. Been looking at the MC 22 Weatronic and almost made up my mind, but now Graupner has come up with a new and HOT(T) system as well - thank you so much - now I have to check this system out as well
Except the telemetripart - what is the main difference between those two systems, reliability, range, etc? And does anyone know if there will be a telemetry option for the Weatronic system?
I fly electric airplanes and I like the idea of finding out how much battery theres left when Im flying, but instead of looking down on a display I would have preferred a nice voice in my ear to tell me or the radio could speak it out loud and clear.

I am that guy. :-)

Nothing spectacular to report. Put it in a Funjet and flew it until we could barely see it. Worked fine. No loss of control, no fail safes (then the motor would have quit), no glitches, ... Just worked. Uneventful so far. Further flights confirmed this. Passed TX around, no special remarks. Uneventful, just worked.

Going to fly some more in the Funjet then put it into a TREX500+Vstabi. Afterwards I will try to use it every weekend and probably lend it to some other Graupner-flying people to test it out for themselves.

Rgds,
Ralf

Julez knows of course that Graupner has interferred and all threads about this test have been set on hold or have been removed in German forums.

Meanwhile Graupner was contacted and informed by the user.

So far no response !

The test was conducted under similar conditions as for the Futaba 617 RX's.

You can see the Futaba video here.

Futaba Heat Test: R617FS (14 min 7 sec)

So as the tuth will prevail, next summer we will see the truth!

Nice to hear you here, because I can't speak German.

What about telemetry?

Ok, then look here :

http://rclineforum.de/forum/thread.p...id=297024&sid=

and here :

http://www.rc-network.de/forum/showthread.php?t=235789

As Graupner has shipped not only one receiver to the market up to now, others will repeat the same test and we will see soon, if results are reproducible.

If they are, then Gaupner has advertized with a wrong specification of > 70C for the operating range of their RX's and nobody will believe them anymore.

Then our motto will change to : HoTT receivers don't like it hot!

Hi Ralf.

I saw that you post that on German forum, can you write it here in English? Because I don't understand German, and google translate is terrible.

Thank you!

Hi,

quick update from the german forum: http://www.rc-network.de/forum/showthread.php?t=236132

So there is no temperature problem with HOTT. The user who made the first test repeated it under different conditions, the receiver still worked at 60C. So there was something wrong with the first test and an external part must be the reason for the first failure.
