Just got my TP2100 pack!

and test flew it in the minx, yikes, first flight was with the razor 350 and micro fan, 9 min flight, very nice, plenty fast. Landed and the pack was barely warm, swapped motors to the razor 300, now we are talking, screaming, faster still, 8 min flight (no recharge between flights) pack only slightly warm. Love these lipos, no more Nicad or Nimh for me!!

3s1p and it weighs the same as my old 10cell 720's maybe even lighter, but boy does it pack a punch. Recharged and it took 1956 ma, hardly noticed any variance in power from the beginning of the first flight till the end of the second. I plan to try the TP1300's next.

Dave,

Where did you get the pack from? I have not had much luck getting pricing or availability info from the manufacturer.

Thanks for the info!

Although I haven't received them yet, I ordered from Charlie Wang directly at 702-228-8883. They don't currently take credit cards so you have to mail a check. He said the his web site should be up in a week or two, and credit card handling shortly after that. I just mailed my check two days ago, so I expect the batteries next week. Charlie (nice guy by the way) said they were in stock.

I don't recall the exact price breakdown, but the total cost was $263.80, including $4 shipping. I got 4 packs, 2 2S1P and 2 3S1P. which breaks down to about $25 per cell. He also said that he's working with Horizon to be a distributor, so you might mention that to your local hobby shop that buys from Horizon.

Cheers.

Esprit models had the pack 75$ plus shipping, as far as how much current, I think it depends, have been told they are fine at 5C constant, I have pushed them at over 14 amps, no problem but I back off, so far the flight time indicates I was avg 3-4 C.

They're now $80 for a 3s1p pack at Esprit. Cost of inflation I guess...hehe!

I just got two packs. Boy, do they pack a punch!. I need to re-prop to bring down the current. Wish I had ordered two more before the price increase!

I just soldered on my Deans Ultra plugs to my 3s1p 2100TP pack. It's going in my Twister and Bearcat. What charger are you using docphi? I have to read up on me Schulze isl-330d manual and make sure I get it right.

I would have had the pack for the fun fly today but the post office screwed up and had my package for 3 days wondering how to deliver a properly marked box

Thats great news Dave! Im so glad you got that little Minx cooking again...it sure is a good looking (and FAST!) airplane

The TP2100s are capable of about 12.6 amps continuous and short term burst up around 20-22 amps. I flew them in a Mini Laser 3D with a Hacker B20-15L pulling 22 amps static. The battery readily handled the 22 amps for 10-15 second vertical climbs out of sight, and with throttle management I could easily get 15-25 minute flights! Even up til the end of the flight I still had very good vertical (Slightly less power of course).

By far, these are the very best packs to replace and 10 cell 2/3 sub A packs (using 3s1p). Less weight, more power and more flight time...you cant beat that

I've been flying them with 26 amp bursts no problem.

Charger is Troy's fabulous SC2.

Yeah, Esprit does not list the size I would need. *Sigh* - guess I'll keep going with the E-Techs.....

Thanks anyway.

Hi Jason. I'm curious, you say 12.6 amps continuous. This sounds pretty specific. I've been trying to get an honest answer on this subject for a while. The Thunderpower packs have been quoted by Charlie as having 16 amps continuous, 22 amps burst capability. Why do you mention 12.6 amps?

I have a pack of 3s1p 2100's and I wish I could get a specific answer from the distributors to this question. I'd prefer to go off accurate information and take my own chances if need be, vs. going off bad or optomistic sales data only to fry a pack in ignorance.

My present setup is an 18 amp static full power setup, probably 16 amps max in flight WOT, most likely around 13 amps or so on average. I bought the pack using quoted 16/22 data.

Thanks,

Ed
