Obama on The Daily Show

Listen to the utter BS he is spewing!

Even Stewart is calling him on some of it.

He has said he doesn't want a 60 vote requirement on bills. Maybe some absolutism can be thrown in there in a few years.

I never bought into the government takeover stuff, but studying euro history this year is just eerie.

It is SAD what people voted into office.

People were scared ... save us Obama ...save us!

All that was done was to invite the fox into the hen-house.

I didn't listen...

When I hear Obama speak all I hear is the sound of a serpent. and his eyes, remind me of someone in need of an exorcism.

For a party that wanted to get rid of the filibuster a couple years ago, they sure have learned to live with it! What a difference a couple years make.

Of course the Dems have no spine, don't make the Reps actually DO a filibuster. They just tuck tail and slink off to try and find 60 votes. Heck, it was me, I'd make em work for it. Go ahead, get up there and talk yer head off, I'll bring a cot!

Way past cynicism and well into resigned bemusement, personally.

Yeah dL, I've abdicated my throne too. Wasted energy, and every day I have less to waste.

I'm just trying to remember a 'popular' President

I guess Clinton for a while - but he blew it with the blue rinse uber right when Monika did her thing.

Reagan - well he was stark raving bonkers of course and regularly quipped lines from sixty year old films as fact

Go on who - it wasn't either of the Bush's ?

I was mildly surprised, on first coming to this forum, to discover that, contrary to what I'd previously believed to be the case, President Kennedy was not universally popular. The same for President Lincoln. It just goes to show.

Wow Just wow.

This forum desperately needs that "walks away shaking one's head" smiley.

Really? Kennedy carried Texas in the general election, and Johnson could not persuade Texas delegates to change to him when he and Kennedy debated at the Dem convention.

Johnson hated RFK, is that what you meant?

The clips I've seen show him droning on and on like he does at press conferences. I can't wait to hear what the secret things "We have done things that some folks don't even know about," ".

And a first - President Dude!
Quote:
Barack Obama’s appearance on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” last night marked the first time a sitting president has appeared on the Comedy Central program. It likely marked another first: the first time a president was called “dude” in a TV interview.

Obama said that administration official Larry Summers did a “heckuva job” on financial reform–and the President suggested his words were deliberately chosen to echo the language George W. Bush used to praise FEMA official Michael Brown during Hurricane Katrina. Stewart jokingly told the president, “You don’t want to use that phrase, dude.”
