1:144 scale warship combat

There is a group in Australia that fights thier 1:144 scale warships against one another. They take damage, they sink and each ship is scaled for speed, steering, armour and armament. It's quite cool to watch.

Is anyone here involved with battlegroups from other countries?

I'm looking at this for my next project once the tea candle race is out of the way

We fight 1/72nd scale. A lot more detail to our boats. Many a pretty part comes flying off in battle.

Is Queen's Own still actively battling? I'm over in the seattle area and battle 1:144 fastgun, but I'd love to be able to drop in and watch the 1:72 ships go at it.

xanin there are several people on this forum that are involved in BB battling, Im sure they'll chime in soon. Umi is one...Umi? you out there?


ps BB battling hulls also make inexpensive(relatively) non fighting rc models. My Bismarck started as a Swampworks semi kit.

Queen's Own has been battling the last Saturday of the month, April through September.
The club is still battling regularly in Gig Harbor, but we have the opportunity to use two
additional ponds, one in Duvall, and the other up in Bellingham.
We also have a pond that we can access in Molalla, Oregon. However, we have
shifted to the Gig harbor pond so that no one is traveling more than three hours to sail.

You can search Combat Nationals and find several threads here on RCgroups.

There are number of 1:144 warship combat clubs in the United States, in three styles: big gun, fast gun, and treaty. We have a links page at Strike Models (we're the ones who bought Swampworks) to the clubs, and the RC Naval Combat website has a directory where you can find captains by country and state (if in the US).
