Did you need to do any modifications to get those to fit, or to take those speeds? I assume you moved the servos back to gain some space? Thanks for the info. Looking to make this one fast. Hitting 150 - 160 with my Ritewing Demon lite on 4S. Was hoping to hit similar speeds with the Trick. Didn't realize it would take a 36mm motor. Cool, that might change my motor selection.

No mods, my seros fit right ahead of the wing bolts, and the battery fits in above the wing pin and almost against the motor. This is a perfect balance for me, just slightly nose heavy. I made a sleeve to go over the battery to keep it from comming back during flight. It bumps against the servo mounts and has worked flawless for all my flights so far, and allows good air flow. I put the battery in first then slide the sleeve in and then ready to go. I wont lie its a tight fit, but it all goes in. Before I bought the battery, I looked up the specs and found out the size, then cut out a block of wood the same size to make sure that it fit. I will say that 150 is more likely closer to 160-175, no problem. The motor and battery get real hot, but the battery was like 40 bucks so who cares!

Thanks for all the info. That sounds like what I am after. When you say glow prop, is this an APC Sport prop by chance? The motor I am considering was shattering 6x4 sport props on a right wing on 6S due to the high RPMs. I bought it for a 6S demon lite setup, but I think it would be a perfect fit for the Trick. However, I am worried about shattering a prop with that setup, so I may go 5S.

Yes this is an apc sport prop and not an apc e prop. I have not tried a electric prop on this setup for obvious reasons. I used to fly glow airplanes and now I talk like they are the plague!! Dont miss it a bit! Good luck with your trick, let us know how it goes, sorry I did not post any pics... I am on vacation right now in Maine, attending an all electric fun fly in Portland Maine today. Thanks to all the Propsnappers! Today was awesome!

Diggs,
The trick likes big props. 6.5 x 6.5 is the smallest prop i would run a second time. I did attempt a 6x4 with poor results My fastest pass was using a 7x9 a tad over 175 mph, it took alot of watts to get there. Trick's are very tail heavy and require around 200 gram motor and a forward mounted lipo to cg.. If you were to use the 28-56-1900 (22-2300 kv actual) you will need alot of lead. 4s will be the max cell count with a 6.5" prop for great speed but not so enthusiastic climbing... You can run 3s2p and 7x9 for some good pitch speed and thrust with out the noise. All that being said stay below 100 amps to keep that 4 pole motor alive.. -Dave |

While flying my Trick the other night , the motor shut off and, and at first I thought that the speed controller went into thermal shutdown. I have since realized that the motor is not working and it has that burnt smell. What would be a good replacement for that motor, or can I get it fixed. I cannot even find out where they are made. I was running a 7x7, 100 amp ice lite on 6s. This setup lasted about 40 flights or so. This setup was awesome. What would a longer arc 3665 be like? Any ideas would be great.
