Bill, what the motor powering that pursuit?

Sux to see the twin get lose a prop and shaft. You can see it happen right after the last turn before he brings it in.

I'm hoping Chris will stop by and answer you Losi because I honestly don't remember which motor he has in there now. Seems like he's running a m445 for prop as we were talking about that yesterday.

A few of us went to Ackerman today even if it was supposed to be windy.

Testing The big Arapaho mono with a Leopard 5692 1000 kv motor on 6s 2p.
1st prop a X452/3 just to play it safe Didn't do much more than get it on plane. 2nd prop a X455/3 which worked better. Still no speed demon but it is comfortable running at the speeds it reaches with this setup. Not nearly as squirelly as it was with a 2028 on 9s 2p.

A little P mono action with Chris, Brian (encore man) and myself running.
I'm really not all that impressed with GoPro video for recording race action. It might make a nice HD vid but the field of view is just too wide for being able to tell what is actually running.

More testing on my Promise Hobbies Falcon cat after removing about 1/2 of the skeg below the prop line. It did improve the handling in the corners but it still wants to dig a little. Time to remove the rest of the skeg and see what that does for it. On the good side, it handled the chop from the 10-15 mph winds really well.

Another version of the P mono heat. This one shot by Ray. I like the regular video camera over the GoPro just because it gets better close ups.

Rob's little Arrow Shark self righting mono. For a small boat it handled the chop there today really well.

That pretty much concludes todays videos

3/25/12

It was not a good start of the morning as it rained pretty good about 15 minutes after getting boats set up on tables to prep for running. I was really surprised how much water mine took on with the hatches on but not taped. After the rain passed it was actually a nice day until about noon when the wind really picked up.

Here's 1st run is my just finished Titan 33. Not exactly what I'd call a success. It cornered pretty well but was a terror on the straights with chine walk and literally jumping out of the water on occadion. It's a GoPro vid so bear with it.

Titan33 1st outing.avi (4 min 49 sec)

Next up a round of LSO also shot with the GoPro camera since I was driving at the same time.
I wasn't running legal, driving my Mean Machine twin to find out if it could survive a full 4 minute heat. That way it can be used as a P Offshore boat in an upcoming race.

03-25-12 LSO 1.avi (5 min 2 sec)

Here's a partial round of P mono. After my new Titan went upside down in the 1st corner I grabbed the good video camera and started shooting the two remaining boats.

03-25-12 P mono.wmv (1 min 23 sec)

Another round of LSO. I sat this one out and ran camera to get some good footage.

Starting to get the Falcon cat straightened out. Removing the rest of the skeg helped the cornering a lot. I was still taking it easy on the east (right) side of the course as that's where the winds were hitting the hardest. It would handle the west end at pretty much full noise though. The cut down Prather S270 added a few mph to it as well.
