The Official Flite Test FPV Setup

Here are some pictures and descriptions of my FPV setup. This is what we use to get our air to air shots for the reviews.

The Twinstar makes a pretty good FPV platform, but you should really check out the Skywalker... basically an Easystar on steroids. Quite a bit more payload and easier to set up and more efficient with a single motor.

But don't toss the old Twinstar... it also makes a great seaplane. Maybe a ROW video is in your future.

Any samples of your vids? What was the total cost of your setup? Thanks!

I'm not sure what the total cost is. I'm afraid to total it up. Maybe $400 in the ground station and $500-600 in the plane. I post quite a few of my FPV vids on YouTube...

Just ordered a TwinStar to setup like this. It seems very stable, but would you recommend putting in some gyros as well?

I really think the gyros are a waste of time on this plane. It is extremely stable on a calm day. And gyros won't compensate for the type of movement you get on a windy day.

Cool, thanks.

Quick question: where did you get the 2.5mm 4-pin micro jack for the GoPro video output? Been searching all over but I can't find it, and I don't want to cannibalize the cable that came with the camera.

Watch out for some FPV videos in the near future

You're right... you can't find them anywhere. I had to cut up my cable and make a custom connector. I have two GoPros, so figured I could sacrifice one cable for the thing I love to do most.
Please feel free to share your FPV videos with me!
Thanks,
Chad
