Flew lots of touch and goes this AM. This plane was the winner. Of the 3 warbirds I brought this was hands down, the easiest T&Gs... like she was on rails with too much power and having too much fun.

Switching to the APC 4-blade would be a plus as far as safety is concern with a hot set up as you say it is one piece and a little more robust, and it being 11X9X4 and cutting it down to the 10X9X4 would that set up be little better?

I do not have ecalc and run Mac so I dont know if I can get ecalc to work, any input would be helpful on this.
eCalc is a web page, I'm running it on linux, and I've done it on my iPhone previously. It'll probably work on your mac:
http://www.ecalc.ch/motorcalc_e.htm?ecalc

Running the numbers for the APC cut to 10", with the motor Papabatman suggests, looks like a pretty dang good setup.

9.32min runtime. 25A (!!), .83 thrust/weight. The pitch speed is a little low, though, at 65mph.

For that prop, it may be better to go with the G25-710kv motor. You still get 6.7min flight, but the pitch speed goes up to about 72mph, pulling 33A, but with a 1.0 thrust to weight.

The point is, go play with the numbers until you get something you're happy with.

here is the thing you have to figure out what it is you want your bird to do. if you want a 4 blade and a 10 pitch on 4s then this would be safe. on 3s with a smaller prop and pitch not so great. there are so many great choices for a 4 blade set up buried in this thread. for fun try a search on motors and 4 bladed props see what others have done

The HL 4 bladed prop is amazingly durable. The blades flex quite a bit and take quite a lot of punishment. The Prop on 3s sounds like a window fan as it goes by. When you get into 4s now your into uncharted waters.

Can someone run the numbers on my setup..

Power 32 - 60amp esc - 2500 4S

I ran a 12x10 prop but also tried a 12x12.. The 12x12 was very similar in performance to the 12x10. Bat was pretty warm though..

I went back to the 12x10 but would like to know what the numbers say..

Thanks for this post! My buddy has a PZ Corsair, and it flies nice, but I dont want to buy the same plane as him. When shopping other PZ planes, my biggest interest is T&Gs (Im a prior Navy guy)
Seeing videos of the BF109 being so tipsy, your comment sparked my interest in this plane.

I try not to mention other birds in a model specific thread but since we are making a direct comparison I'll make the exception.
The three warbirds I brought out for T&G practice were the PZ P47 and Spitfire, both with Eflite retracts, and the Dynam bf109. Dynam because all warbirds need retracts.
I flew figure 8s with the landing strip on one leg of the X part, touch and go...
As I said the P-47 was the hands down most stable & easiest of the 3, the Spit was a close second and the 109 a lagging 3rd. Each plane ranks relative to the width of it landing gear. This was no big surprise. My opinion is this plane does the best T&Gs even compared to tricycle gear planes like the T-28 trainer.

However tomorrow I maiden a Corsair which may upset the ratings

Pulls way too many amps for the stock motor. It does work with a modded motor of 870kv or lower and a bigger than stock ESC.

I fly one on my PZ Spitfire with the G-25 870 HK motor. It's okay and looks great in the air but it's no speed demon and if antthing is slower than stock set up and it is an AMP hungry prop!

Guys,

Just a heads up! I just finished my build, and with a 820kv Torque motor/ airboss 45amp, swinging the Hobby lobby 4 blade(set at 11x10),It pulls 900 watts at 70+ amp, and that was with my tired old 4s 2200 turnigy 30c packs. This setup pulls 750watts at 5amp swinging a 13x6xoar, So I plan on pitching it back to 11x8, and I'll report back.
