PS: Just got my own P47 ARF delivered today. I think (but am not sure) I already have the right motor, servos, retracts, ESC for it... I sure hope so, because if I don't have everything needed to complete it today, my mind will start to wander back to that EDF..... hmmmm...but I'm not so good at fabricating, so I'd better just stay stock for now!

Glad you like it track, The parkzone P-47 is a great airplane. You'll love flying it. I have about 5 more conversions on the list to do...............I'll show that once it gets a little closer to completion.

That's what I was thinking. It looks like a single stage centrifugal compressor, so I guess it wouldn't be _that_ bad.

I had a nasty crash last night

After lots of flying; touch and goes, inverted, tail slides, etc, I decided to land. I looked at my timer, and figured I'd do one more takeoff and land sequence, even though the plan was at the other end of the runway, facing me. I guess I don't do takeoffs in that orientation much. I forgot to put the flaps up, and as it lifted off, it did a near snap roll right, to which I promptly did the opposite correction. I cut the throttle and went in so straight it bounced off the spinner. Unfortunately, the inertia nearly ripped the wings clear off.

So, I went to strip the wings, and notice the front of the fuse is compressed at top. "No biggie, it's EPO, I'll just boil it." ... then the firewall melted and deformed. Cre-ap!

So I just about need a whole new airframe. Pretty depressing!

I do the opposite with those snap roll stalls, I punch the throttle so long as I get a somewhat level attempt. Saved alot of mishaps that way...But that's usually with my Cub or Cessna whent eh wind gets undet the wingtip in croswind stuff. I knifedge saved my Cessna last week like that. The wingtip was mere inches off the ground.

Been flying my P-47 with the ParkZone Extra 300 prop. Hand launches are easier, and I can out run my friends P-51 at WOT.
At half throttle I get about 7 minutes of flying. Takes 960 mAh out of my TP3S-2100-25C LiPo.
Static current draw is 29-30 amps.

Well, the age in my Tunderbolt is starting to show, I cannot fly her as hard as I use to, that is until I get a new prop compressor or motor shaft. I've tossed the propeller three times now doing lumshevaks, when it would do them flawlessly brand new. I ended up belly landing her on the pavement, due to a strong crosswind, It's the most damage I've done to her in the two years i've owned her. It kind of made me feel a bit sad.

I only cut the throttle when it was far too late to save it. It was already nose down at that point!
I just picked up a new airframe at the lhs, now to rebuild!

Ouch, looks to be time for a new airframe.
What exactly is a lumshevek?

Naa, a little bit of paint and she will look as good as new
The damage is not as bad as it appears, though the air frame is a bit warn out.

A Lumshevak; polish for headache, Its a 'stall and fall' maneuver. For a visual I found this video on youtube.

Naturally this P-47 does not do them nearly as neat and they look a lot more like snap rolls.
