Hi all, I'm ready to try a 4S but I'm a little confused about what type as far as voltage, mAh, etc. I've got the G25 870kv with Plush 60A ESC, retracts and flaps, and plan to use a Extra 300 prop with the 4S. Currently I'm using 3S 2200 mAh 11.1V and getting 8-9 minute flights with the stock prop and about half that with the 300 prop. What type of 4S and 300 prop combination would get the same flight time (at least 8-9 min)? I'm not so concerned with more speed although a little more wouldn't hurt. I usually run at 75% throttle with a few WOT bursts. Thanks!

4s big jump in speed also you would need 3300mah or so 25c. if your running 75% throttle you would be doing about 50% on 4s with some fast bursts. everything you have now looks good for a 4s set up. that is a big battery hope your good at landing lol just kidding move the battery back a bit should be fine

MD 1963, I have used the 2200 and even the 1800mah 4s with similar motor & esc in similar PZ birds. (T28 & Spitfire) The 1800mah turnigy nano tech 25-50C Weighs and sizes the same as the 3s2200. If you fly mostly 1/2 throttle with bursts of excitement you can fly 5-6minutes. This battery fits right in without any COG mod.
The 2200mah 4s is a little heavier and will require repositioning... You will want a smaller prop when you go up in voltage(higher rpms). Big props are for slower turning motors.

isn't the extra 300 prop 10.5x9 not that big same as a 10x10. 870kv motor on 4s should be well with in its limits. i have ran 4 blades with that motor on 4s. always check your watt meter to be sure.

I don't have any pics right now but it is a direct fit for me (I only have 850, 1000, and 1300mah 4s though).

Egads! High speed dives with that plane must be fun

No need to cut any foam with 4S 2200 batteries.
