Mine with the 4s pack and G-25 is more nose heavy in CG, but I fly it that way anyway. I have tried moving the pack back to be more balanced at the CG point, but I prefer this plane more nose heavy.

+100!!!
I've got 127 flights on mine and STILL get the "Perma-Grin" everytime I fly it. I still say the P-47 and the Stryker Q are the best two flying Parkzone planes I've ever flown. (Closely followed by the P-51). And I've flown almost all of them.

guys, would a Power 10 equivalent, ie the Hobby King G10 on 3-4S, be enough to power this plane?

I would say the 810kv version of the G10 would work. Turning an 11x8 apc it looks pretty close to stock figures. 61oz thrust, 25 amps, pitch speed of 60mph and mixed flight times of about 13 minutes. Stick a 4s in with the same prop and it should pull about 39 amps, give 98oz thrust with a pitch speed of 76mph, flight times drop to about 8.5 minutes. Figures are from ecalc with a 25c 3300ma pack.

Cool thanks

I use it in a T28 now with 11.7 prop, but can use a 12" prop if wanted.

Very strong motor on 4S;

I've only got 120 flights to go to catch up to you, M-beam.

I thought I read somewhere in this thread that the graphic in the manual was wrong but the dimension was correct; in other words the CG is 60mm but it should be measured from the leading edge of the wing, and not where the wing root meets the fuselage at the mounting point. It's about a 12mm difference.

Could be, however typically most CG measurements are at leading edge, measured from the point where the wing meets the fuse. This is because most wings leading edges generall sweep backward from the root to tip.

The point is with this plane 12mm will not be a lot of difference, especially when it's 12mm less. As I said, my plane is nose heavy and flies fine. With enough power anything will fly

I thought I'd post some pics of my re-built P-47 following a nose in. New wings and fuze and my first go at airbrushing. Did some invasion stripes, colour on the cowl and rudder. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Due to re-maiden it this weekend depending on the weather.

I've also fitted the Turnigy G25 870Kv motor and 60 amp Plush ESC. It seems the standard prop adaptor fits, but sticks out a bit further as the new motor is a little longer. Is this what others have experienced?

Darren
Nice job! I have the same motor/esc but I'm using the hardware that came with the G25 and it doesn't stick out so much. This configuration is pretty nose heavy on mine; I had to move the battery, RX, and elev servo aft to get the CG in range.

The guys at our field have done it. I believe it was a 1100 kv E-flite Power 10
No speed demon but works just fine.

Although you would need to use washers to bring the motor out a little further, I would think
